In 1983 Gregg Catagnus graduated from Northampton County Community College Funeral Service Education Program, and by 1984 he was a licensed Pennsylvania Funeral Director.  In 1985, after having worked at two other funeral homes, he opened Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. Gregg purchased his first location at 711 North Franklin Street in Pottstown, PA.

In 1994 Mr. Catagnus opened the second Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. located at 1020 East Philadelphia Avenue in Gilbertsville, PA.  Up until six years ago Gregg, along with his wife Mindy, ran both locations themselves.  Mindy still assists with funerals and viewings, and the business has grown to include three locations and 16 employees.

Gregg opened his newest location in May 2004, at 329 North Lewis Road in Royersford, PA.

Mr. Catagnus, a Pottsgrove area native fosters in his staff a commitment to fraternal civic activities in the local communities in which they work.

While Gregg is still very much involved in seeing families and running services at all three locations, he also relies heavily on his seasoned, dedicated staff. 

Gregg attributes the growth of his business to an understanding of what people in smaller communities are looking for in a funeral home, delivering unfaltering service with someone on call 24/7, and meticulously tended, modern facilities.
