Clements Martinkus, 92, of N. Coventry Twp.

Clements “Clem” Martinkus, 92, of Pottstown, formerly of Ruxton, MD, beloved husband of the late Ella (McDonald) Martinkus, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Julius and Stella Martinkus.
Surviving is son Richard Martinkus, husband of Sharona, of Baltimore, MD; daughter Patricia Klose wife of Gene, of N. Coventry Twp.; brother Leonard Martinkus of Towson, MD; and grandchildren Janet Klose Hamilton wife of Joshua, who is currently deployed in Iraq, and Elizabeth Klose, both of Philadelphia.
Clements was a master mechanic who owned and operated Clem’s Motor Service in Baltimore MD for more than 50years. He was a WWII Merchant Marine veteran. His memberships included the Pottstown YMCA Senior Center, the Knights of Columbus and American Legion, both in Maryland.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2PM to 5PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown and on Friday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, Maryland. Doris M. (Kirby) Kerr, 83, of Pottstown, passed away on Friday at Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Bartholomew) Kirby.
Surviving is her son Tim Kerr, husband of Susan, of Lansdale; brother Robert Kirby of Pottstown; grandchildren Cailin and Aidan Kerr, both of Lansdale, Holly Parker, wife of Mike, of Stowe, and John Stetler Jr., husband of Amber, of Philadelphia. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by a son John Stetler.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 11AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30AM to 11AM at the funeral home.

Marguerite (Letterhouse) Reichart, 86, wife of the late Charles A. Reichart, of Bally, passed away on Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Allentown.
Born in Bally, PA, she was the daughter of the late August and Matilda ( Adam ) Letterhouse.
Surviving are sons Michael C. Reichart, husband of LuAnn of Boyertown and Ronald P. Reichart of Gilbertsville; daughters Diane M. Davidheiser, wife of Jim, of Boyertown and Doreen R. Eidle, wife of Bruce, of Barto; her sister Mary Louise Bauer of Bally; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Carl and Joseph Letterhouse, sister Agatha Letterhouse, and granddaughter Angela.
Marguerite was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Bally where she was a member of the former Altar Society. She was also a member of the former Goodwill (Bally) Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Bally Senior Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10:30AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally with Msgr. Edward J. Coyle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30AM to 10:20AM at the church.

John F. “Mick” Michniewicz, 56, husband of Theresa (Wodack) Michniewicz, of Pottstown, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on Thursday.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Jeanne (Turner) McIntyre and the late Chester Michniewicz.
Surviving with his wife and mother is son Matthew E. Michniewicz of Pottstown; siblings Deborah Summers, wife of Rev. Thomas Summers, Patricia New, wife of Edward New, Carol Michniewicz , and Michael Michniewicz, partner of Roy Howell, all of Philadelphia. Also surviving are sister in law Marie Kathryn Ames, wife of Michael Ames; mother in law Theresa Wodack; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Pottstown where he was in charge of CCD traffic control for nine years. A familiar sight on Tuesday nights with his cones and flashlight, he was known as Mr. Mick to all the kids. He was also a former Cub Scout Leader and was active up to his death with Adopt A US Soldier (AAUSS) at Adoptaussoldier.com. John was an avid outdoorsman enjoying birding, boating, fishing and kayaking.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10:00AM at ST. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 214 N. Hanover Street in Pottstown. Burial will be private. Emma G. (Miller) Schott, 91, wife of the late Stanley Schott, of Barto, passed away on Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.
Born in Washington Twp., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Grill) Miller.
Surviving are sons Carl Schott, husband of Barbara, of Bally, Robert Schott, companion of Dorothy Webb, of Sabinsville, PA, and Ronald Schott, husband of Rita of Bally; sisters Evelyn Yergey and Violet Nyman both of Barto. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Alma Stahl and Sallie Miller and brothers William, James, Howard and John Miller.
Emma was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Bally and enjoyed playing bingo. She was also a former employee at Bally Ribbon Mills.

Nancy V. (Wadsworth) Kamertz, 78, wife of the late Joseph J. Kamertz, of Mont Clare, PA, formerly of Royersford, passed away on Wednesday at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Margaret (Bechtel) Wadsworth.
Surviving are sons Joseph T. Kamertz of Royersford and Robert Kamertz of New Zealand; daughters M. Louise Pritchard of Ocean City N.J., Kathy Pillitteri of Allentown and Mary Ellen Kamertz of Mont Clare PA; and sister Marjorie Wadsworth of Phoenixville. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a daughter N. Susan Hallman and a sister Mary Dedrick.
Nancy was very involved with girl scouting at Grace Lutheran Church in Royersford. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the garden committee where she lived.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, 11:30AM at Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick. Friends will be received on Monday from 11:00AM to 11:30AM at the mausoleum chapel. Burial will be private.

Robert R. “Bob” Pollock Sr., 59, husband of Charlene L. (Conver) Pollock to who he was married 41 years, passed away on Monday at Sewickley Valley Hospital in Sewickley, PA.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Douglas and Rose (Horan) Pollock Sr.
Along with his wife he is survived by sons Robert R. Pollock Jr. of Thorndale and Josh E. Pollock of Pittsburgh; brothers Douglas Pollock Jr. of Pottstown and David Pollock of Boyertown; sister Patricia Skarbek of Pottstown and granddaughter Christina Pollock.
Bob was a member of West End Fire Co. in Pottstown and ST. Gabriel’s Lodge in Stowe.

James Piazza Jr., age 99, husband of the late Lillian R. (Cusumano) Piazza, of Basking Ridge N.J., and formerly of Pottstown, died Monday at the Pine Acres Nursing Home, in Madison N.J.
Born in Sicily, he was the son of the late James and Frances (Venezia) Piazza.
He worked for 35 years at the former Mrs. Smith Pie Co., Pottstown.
He and his late wife where member’s of St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Pottstown, for over 60 years and belonged to the senior citizens group there. He also was a third degree Knights of Columbus Father Bally Council.
Surviving are two daughters, Francine R. wife of Albert Ritardi, of Mendham N.J., and Rosalind D., wife of the late Vincent P. Golden, of Peapack N.J., along with a sister, Mary wife of Michael Ciccotti, of Jeffersonville, Pa. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Steven F. husband of Leslie Ritardi, Christine A. wife of John McLaughlin, Cynthia A. wife of Lindsay Brown, and Kenneth V. husband of Alissa Golden, and 7 great grandchildren, John, Ryan, and Nick McLaughlin, Michael Ritardi, Laura Golden, and Clark & Lindsay Brown.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, in St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Hanover & Beech Sts., Pottstown. Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Twp. Carl Y. Mertz Sr., 66, husband of Darlene May (Bender) Mertz, of Pottstown, passed away on Friday at Pottstown Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late Jacob C. and Olivia B. (Youse) Mertz.
Surviving with his wife are children Anna M. Jones, wife of James R. Jones, Carl Y. Mertz Jr., husband of Sandy, Glenn D. Mertz, husband of Denise, and Katrinna D. Merkel, wife of Kenneth Merkel; his sister Anna Dierolf, wife of Grant Dierolf; step-daughter Denise Marie Mitchell, wife of John Mitchell; 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Along with his parents he is predeceased by siblings Jacob Y., Sylvester Y., Josephine, Olivia Bertha, Mary, Oscar Y., Daniel Y., and Arthur.
Carl was a member of, In One Accord Ministry in Boyertown. He enjoyed going to flea markets. He was an avid racing fan and former driver at Grandview Speedway. Carl was a farmer at heart. After farming, he worked at the former Mrs. Smith Pie Factory in Pottstown.

Nolan Avery Megonigal, adorable baby boy

Nolan Avery Megonigal, age 7 months, infant son of Jeffrey Ryan Megonigal and Erin Elise Curtis, of Collegeville, died Wednesday in Children’s Hospital of Phila.
Nolan was born on August 16, 2008, in Phoenixville Hospital. He was an adorable little boy with bright blue eyes and wonderful smile. He was strong and fought for his life, making his parents and twin brother very proud.
Surviving with his parents is his twin brother, Calvin Jack Megonigal, and his paternal grandparents, Leon E. and Rebecca A. Schlegel, of Gilbertsville, and Harry & Joyce Megonigal, of Schwenksville, along with paternal great-grandmom, Marie Megonigal, of Trappe. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Andrew J. Curtis III of Collegeville, and Susan E. (Weirman) Curtis of Pennsburg, along with maternal great-grandparents, Florence B. Weirman, of Schwenksville, and Andrew J. & Ada “Sis” Curtis Jr., of Collegeville. In addition, Nolan is survived by a great aunt, Debbie Nyce, and two uncles, Bradley J. husband of Jolyn Megonigal, and Andrew R. Curtis. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Avery Elise Megonigal.

Philip “Pete” E. Rightnour, age 78, husband of Sheila M. (Collins) Rightnour, of Laurelwood Rd., North Coventry Twp. died Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown he was the son of the late George E. and Stella (Sawchuck) Rightnour.
He worked at the former Stanley G. Flagg Co., in Stowe, for 37 years, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving on the U.S.S. Consolation.
Pete was a graduate of Warwick High School.
He was a member of the Boyertown Pigeon Club, and spent his whole life breeding, raising, training, and racing pigeons. He was also a member of the National Pigeon Assoc.
Surviving with his wife of 55 years, are 2 sons, Philip Scott Rightnour, of Boyertown, and Rob Rightnour, of Parker Ford, along with a daughter, Dr. Lucinda L. Willis, of Indiana, PA. Also surviving is a sister, Patty Fizz, of Douglassville, and 4 grandchildren, Jonathan, Arianne, Gunnar Lee, and Lauren Mae Rightnour, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 sons, Brian Lee and David Allen; he was also pre-deceased by 2 brothers, George and Clifford Rightnour.
Funeral services and/or gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later date.

Mildred “Mitch” (Showalter) Wade, 92, wife of the late William E. Wade, of Boyertown, passed away on Wednesday at her home.
Born in Boyertown, she was the daughter of the late John and Maggie (Endy) Showalter.
Surviving is her son Glen Wade of Boyertown; grandson Scot Wade, husband of Erin, of Earlville; and great grandchildren Ashley and Dylan Wade. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brothers John and Frank Showalter and her sister Esther Weiss.
Mildred was a member of Colebrookdale Chapel in Boyertown. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Denise A. Elliott, loved her family

Denise A. “Dee” (Haring) Elliott, age 47, of Pottstown, died peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the cherished wife and best friend of Kurt R. Elliott and only daughter of Barry and Shirley (Nester) Haring of Pottstown.
A 1979 graduate of Pottstown Senior High School, Dee was employed the past eleven years as a paraprofessional at the Pottstown middle School where she will be dearly missed by the students and staff. Dee was a talented artist and created an amazing variety of original works of art for families and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs, but her greatest joy in life was traveling by RV with her husband and children.
Surviving with her husband and parents, is a son, Nathan K. husband of Noelle (Endy) Elliott, of Gainesville Fla., and a daughter, Ashley L. Elliott, fiancé of Michael Shaw, of West Chester. Also surviving are her mother and father in-law, Ronald & Shirley (Loughlin) Elliott, of E. Coventry Twp., and two brothers, Barry C. husband of Lisa B. Haring, of Marshfield Mass., and Jeffrey S. husband of Lisa Haring, of Acworth Ga.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin St. Pottstown, with Pastor David R. Willauer, officiating. Clarence D. “Mike” Kolb, age 79, husband of Betty Jean (Zern) Kolb, of Gilbertsville Rd., Gilbertsville, died Sunday in PMMC.
Born in Englesville, he was the son of the late Clarence and Helen (Dotterer) Kolb.
He worked for 38 years at the former Pottstown Nipple Works, and prior to that for 9 years at the former Boyertown Nipple Works.
He attended Calvery U.C.C. in Barto. He was also a life member of the Gilbertsville Fire Co. and enjoyed hunting and spending time at Marthanna Acres hunting camp, along with horseback riding.
Surviving with his wife of 60 years is a son, Clarence D. “Mick” Kolb III, husband of Deborah (Sharp) Kolb, of Gilbertsville, along with 4 grandchildren, Scott A. Kolb, husband of Shannon, Christopher T. Kolb, husband of Tracey Kolb, Angela L. Groff, wife of John “Chip” Groff, and Briana A. Weller. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Joshua Kolb, Adam Kolb, Amber Kolb, Alexus Kolb, Austin Kolb, Shelby Groff and Jaden Weller, along with two brothers, Robert Schultz of Laceyville, and David Schultz of Macungie, and a sister, Verna Hagenbuch of Perkiomenville, He was predeceased by a great grandson, Jayce M. Weller.

He worked for 30 years at Teleflex Corp., in Limerick.
He is a member of Morning Star Fellowship, Bechtelsville.
Surviving is a sister, Geraldine L. Weller, of Bechtelsville, and a cousin, Emmarose Hayes, of Pottstown, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John S. Hayes.

Born in Virgil, NY, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Lillian A. (Monty) Truman.
Surviving are sons Charles Fleming of Coatesville; daughters Donna McCall, wife of Charles McCall, of Phoenixville, PA and Cindy Powell of Pottstown; sisters Agnes Slosek of Unidilla Forks, NY and Dorothy Bidwell of Ocean Springs, MS; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her son Douglas, her daughter Rhonda, sisters Georgiana Smith and Alice Truman and brothers Lois, Arthur, Willis, and Laurence Truman.
Dolorita was a member of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in Stowe and Pottstown American Legion Post 47. She also loved to play bingo.

Laura Mae (Trullinger) Risko Klink, 86, wife of the late Stephen T. Risko Sr. and Daniel Hunter Klink, of Pottstown, passed away on Wednesday at her residence.
Born in Roxborough, PA, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Alice (Zern) Trullinger.
Surviving are sons Stephen T. Risko Jr of Pottstown and David M. Risko, husband of Donnajean N. Risko, of Pottstown; her sister Mildred Dotterer of Gilbertsville; grandchildren Jennifer R. and Justin D. Risko of Pottstown and niece Cheryl Struckmann, wife of Fritz Struckmann, of Boyertown. Along with her husbands and parents, she is predeceased by her brother Lewis F. Trullinger.
Laura attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Pottstown. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family.

Frances Frame, 75, of Pottstown

Frances (Kessler) Frame, 75, wife of the late Charles D. Frame, of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday at Parkhouse Providence Pointe Nursing Home.
Born in East Nantmeal, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Florence Kessler.
Surviving are sons Donald, Michael, and James Frame; daughters Barbara Miley, wife of Ithel B. Miley Sr., and Doris Mohn; her brother Walter Kessler; and her sisters Edith Mae Lightcap and Norma Ritchard. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by sons Robert and Bruce Frame and her brother John Kessler Jr.
Frances attended Berean Bible Church in Sanatoga. She enjoyed crocheting, and playing bingo, cards and Yahtzee.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Rev. Jace Erb officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Friends may call on Wednesday, from 9:30AM to 10:20AM at the funeral home.

Peter John Falicki, Maritimer

Peter John Falicki, age 67, husband of Angela (Sosa) Falicki, of Cherry St., Pottstown, died Tuesday in Spruce Manor, West Reading Pa.
Born in Pottstown he was the son of Julie Thornton, of Pottstown and the late Stanley Falicki.
Pete was a machinist for 25 years, and later worked for the Pottstown School District, and served as a mate on a fishing boat going out of Lewes Del. He also was in the U.S.Army, serving in the 105th military police, stationed in Germany.
He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Pottstown, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, particularly his granddaughters. In addition his hobby was working with stained glass.
Surviving with his wife and mother are two daughters, Lisa F. DeRenzo, wife of Thomas and their daughter, Abbey, of Pottstown, and Leslie A. Swartz, wife of Matthew, and their daughters, Sydney and Paige, of Pottstown.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday March 9, 2009, at 10 AM in St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Hanover & Beech Sts., Pottstown with the Rev. Walter Benn, officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 to 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will be private.

Anna M. Stahl, 98, of New Berlinville

Anna M. Stahl, 98, widow of S. Eugene (Gene) Stahl of Rothermel Drive, New Berlinville, passed away Saturday, February 28 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Smaloski) Opps. She was co-owner of Stahl’s Delicatessen operating in Pottsville, PA until 1968, then worked until retirement with her husband at Rothermel Manufacturing Company in New Berlinville. She was well-known for her baking, in particular, her sticky buns. She was a loving and beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Trinity E.C. in Boyertown. She was previously a long-time active member of St. Andrew UMC in New Berlinville. She was a Christian woman of strong faith. The church was a central part of her life.
Surviving are two children; Eugene K., husband of Constance of Macungie, and David E., of New Berlinville with whom she resided. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Franklin L. Ketterer, Jr. and Donn P. Ketterer, both of Florida, Michele E., wife of Matt Hoch of Boyertown, and Amanda M. Stahl of Laureldale, PA. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rosemarie (Stahl) Ketterer, wife of Franklin L. Ketterer, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Trinity E.C., 250 Sweinhart Road, Boyertown, PA 19512 with Rev. Don McHenry officiating. Interment will be private and at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity E.C. Church in Boyertown.
