Richard J. Niemi, 63, of Gilbertsville

Richard J. Niemi, 63, of Gilbertsville, husband of Barbara D. (Thomas) Niemi, passed away on Wednesday after a battle with leukemia, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Rockville Centre, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Elizabeth J. (Christ) Niemi.
Richard owned Big Richard’s Sandwich Shop at the Quakertown Farmers Market for 19 years and worked for Little Richard’s Enterprises for more then 40 years. He enjoyed watching the Phillies, Flyers and Eagles and was an avid NASCAR fan too.
Surviving with his wife of 40 years is their daughter Melissa D. Weidner, wife of Jeffrey, of East Greenville; son Richard T. Niemi, husband of Tina of Tower City; grandchildren Alex and Jamie Weidner and Sarah, Julia, Ethan, Caleb, and Tyler Niemi; and niece April Trent of NY. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Thomas Niemi.
Services and interment are private.

Deborah L. Segner, 55, of E. Coventry, wife of Norman L. Segner, Jr., passed away Sunday at Home.
Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of Eugene “Bucky” and Barbara Ann (Kriebel) Bramble, of Collegeville.
Deborah was a member of Holy Trinity Club in Pottstown, St. Gabe’s Lodge in Stowe, Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman Assoc., and the Birdsboro Sportsman Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed decorating her home.
Surviving along with her husband and parents are sons Jeffrey Reinhart of New London, CT, and Charles Ebersole, fiancé of Jen Brumbach of Limerick; daughters Chelise L., wife of Aaron Wilkerson of Pottstown, and Jessica L. Ebersole, fiancé of Robert Reinert II, of Pottstown; stepdaughter Krista Segner, fiancé of Kyle Haines of Las Vegas, NV; sister Janet Laziwicki, wife of John of Collegeville. Also surviving are four grandchildren Laderah Reinhart, Izaiyah Wilkerson, Alaina Reinert, Chloe Ebersole, and two more in the near future.
A funeral service will be celebrated Friday, 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and Friday from 9:30-10:15 AM at the funeral home.

Paul D. Favinger, 61, of Pottstown, passed away suddenly on Saturday at his residence.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Charles Favinger and Sarah (Dunlap) Favinger of Pottstown.
Paul was a wonderful son and would do anything to help you. He was very funny and could always make you laugh. He played basketball and baseball throughout Junior and Senior High School at Pottsgrove High School. He was very athletic and won the best athlete award in his senior year. He also loved playing golf.
Paul was last employed at Unitec in Royersford.
Surviving along with his mother is his brother Ronald and his dog Snickers who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his nieces, Jill Gillette, Diane Mower, Major Jennifer Martinez USAF, and great nieces and nephews Zachary, Alycia, Caitlin, Madison, Molly, Breanne and Jacob.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St. in Pottstown with Rev. Randy Shanley officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the funeral home.

Noreen N. (Nutley) Whalen, 76, of Douglassville, formerly of West Norriton, wife of the late John B. Whalen, passed away Tuesday at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. As a former elementary school teacher and family day care owner, Noreen positively influenced many children and their families throughout her life.
Born in Chicago, IL, Noreen was the daughter of the late Peter Henry and Angela (Healy) Nutley.
Noreen was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Spring City. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, eating candy, meeting new people, and especially, spending time with her family.
Surviving are sons John B. Whalen, Jr., and Brian J. Whalen; daughters Julianne W. Cody, Kathleen M. Whalen, Sheila M. Biehl, and Jennifer M. Whalen; grandchildren Annie Ellen and Daniel Cody, Julian, Raphael, Angela, and Liam Whalen, and Brendan Biehl; sisters-in-law Julia Rowles and Fran Nutley; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Noreen is predeceased by her brother James Richard Nutley.

Arlene L. (Cummins) Brightbill, 75, of Pottstown, wife of the late Robert S. Brightbill, Sr., passed away Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Emma N. (Long) Cummins.
Arlene was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church. In her free time she enjoyed visiting the casino, playing shuffleboard at Holy Trinity Club, playing cards, and crocheting. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and in particular watching her grandchildren play sports.
Surviving are sons Robert S. Brightbill, Jr., husband of Donna of Barto, and Keith A. Brightbill, husband of Carol of Pottstown; daughters Deborah J. Stein, wife of James of Boyertown, Cynthia L. Clark, wife of Wayne of Douglassville, Christine A. Brightbill of Boyertown, and Kim R. King of York; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Including her husband and parents, Arlene is predeceased by her son James Allen Brightbill and her brother Harry H. Cummins, Jr.

Joseph enjoyed spending time reading and fishing.

George D. Hoopes, 84, of Perkiomenville, husband of LeAnne (Wezner) Hoopes, passed away on Sunday at home with his family by his side.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the son of the lat e George D. and Evelyn Goldie (Decker) Hoopes.
George was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Boyertown Rod & Gun Club. He was a WWII Navy veteran and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
Surviving with his wife of 50 years is daughter Carol J. Gerlott; sons George D. Hoopes III and Geoffrey F. Hoopes; sister Dorothy Robinson and grandson Ryan H. Gerlott.

Olga (Krewonosuk) Esterly, 86, of Boyertown, wife of the late Robert G. Esterly, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Efrosina (Michewicz) Krewonosuk.
Olga worked in the financial aid department at Ursisnus College and was a case worker at Creative Health in Pottstown.
Surviving is her son Greg Esterly, husband of Loretta, of Boyertown, daughter Andrea (Esterly) Rowland, wife of Richard, of Boyertown and grandchildren Amber, Carly, Hannah, Liam, and Seth.

Horace “Rube” Gauger, 77, of Gilbertsville, husband of Barbara J. (Pusch) Gauger, passed away on Friday after a long battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Born in Linfield, he was the son of the late Horace S. and Annie (Taggert) Gauger.
Horace was a member of Zion’s UCC Church in Pottstown where he was an active elder, taught Sunday school for many years, and was on the Wednesday Crew. He was also a member of the Spring City American Legion Post 602.
Surviving with his wife of 56 years are sons Matthew K. Gauger of Pottstown and Nathan A. “Drew” Gauger of Parkerford; brother Kendall “Pete” Hoover of Kenilworth; sisters Viola “Pet” Domin of Pottstown and Dorothy Miles of Harleysville; grandchildren Brad K., Allan M., Erik S., and Kyra Y. Gauger; and great granddaughter Magnolia M. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Merrill M. “Jim”, Warren “Barney”, John J. and Morris T. “Spike” Gauger; and sisters Helen Nagel and Charlotte Bauer.

Catherine E. (Brown) Fanaro, 80, of Collegeville, wife of Michael D. Fanaro, passed away on Monday, December 12 at PMMC.
Born and raised in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret (Doyle) Brown.
She worked for Silver Spring Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting where she was affectionately known as “Cathy” and enjoyed serving the children. Known as “Nanny” by her grandchildren, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Surviving with her husband of 63 years are her children Michael E. Fanaro, Linda L. Sanger, Gale A., wife of J. David Schrader, Cindy L., wife of James L. McCoach, Mark D. Fanaro, husband of Paio, and Jamie M. Fanaro, husband of Shannon L.; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Margaret Haraczka and granddaughter Ashley Ann McCoach.

Stella worked as a housekeeper for both Dr. John Peterman and Dr. Ambrose Peterman for 46 years.
She is survived by her stepdaughter Mary Jane Yocom, wife of Samuel, of Barto; her step sons Leonard F. Rice, husband of Marianne, of Skaneateles, NY and Kenneth W. Rice, husband of Rosemary, of Stowe; 11 step grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her step daughter Dolores LaFreeda.

Edward L. James, Jr. 47, of Royersford, originally from Levittown, passed away unexpectedly on December 8th.
Born and raised in Levittown, Ed graduated from Bishop Egan High School in Levittown in 1982, and after years of full-time work and part-time college classes, he earned a Master's in Business Administration. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dawn (Atkinson) James, and their son, Kyle Vincent. He is predeceased by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held in his honor.

Diane (Diffenderfer) Williams, 63, of Bensalem, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9th at her residence.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Harold R. and Jane (Bitting) Diffenderfer.
Diane succumbed to complications of lupus from which she suffered all of her adult life. She would have been 64 on Dec. 10th. In an effort to give back the community, she started a foundation which served lupus patients. She was a gifted singer and for several years traveled and sang with the Fred Waring Singers. She was a sought after voice in several church choirs throughout the years. Diane was a member of Eddington Presbyterian Church in Bensalem and a former member of Shenkel UCC Church in Pottstown.
She is survived by her long-time and loving companion Thomas Penn, with whom she resided in Bensalem; her sister Joan Seward, wife of Steven A. Seward, VMD, of Pottstown; nieces Lauren Seward of Chicago, Devon Dautrich, wife of Christopher, of West Norriton and Courtney Diffenderfer of Fleetwood; nephew Kyle Diffenderfer, husband of Jill, of Boyertown; great nephew Tyler and great niece Jordyn Diffenderfer. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Gary Diffenderfer.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Anne (Cronin) Caulfield.
John worked as a Data Processor for Laventhal & Howarth, Inc. for twenty-five years and later at Richter’s Stationary Supply Co. for five years as a part-time driver.
Surviving along with his wife are daughters Terri Payne, wife of Jim of Upper Pottsgrove, Jackie Laurence, wife of George of Quakertown, and Beth Oakes of FL; grandchildren Kristyn and Jacob Oakes, Ryan Beach, and Chelsea and Casey Payne; great grandchildren Ayden Oakes, and Hayley Frost; brother Gerald Caulfield; sister Nancy Poole; and mother-in-law Thelma Naughton.

Daniel S. Hoffman, 84, of Frederick, formerly of Gilbertsville, husband of Virginia M. (Koch) Hoffman, passed away Tuesday at Frederick Living surrounded by family.
Born in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late Norman B. and Irene (Schlegel) Hoffman.
Daniel was employed by Cabot Corporation of Boyertown for over thirty years as a shipping and receiving supervisor.
Daniel was a life long member of Christ Lutheran Church, Niantic. He enjoyed doing volunteer work at church and he also delivered Meals on Wheels for Boyertown Multi-Service for many years. Daniel enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He and Virginia also loved to travel.
Surviving along with his wife is son Eugene D. Hoffman, husband of Linda of Perkiomenville; daughters Kay L. Barr, wife of James of Bechtelsville, and Patricia M. Moyer, wife of Michael of Lower Pottsgrove; sister Hilda Kolb, wife of Russel; grandchildren Brian, Travis, Steven, Tammy, Christopher, and Melissa; and nine great grandchildren. Including his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his sister Cora Ertman.

Carol (Strode) Straub, 84, of Frederick and formerly of Catasauqua, King of Prussia and Red Hill, wife of James Swoyer Straub for 62 years, passed away Sunday at Frederick Living.
Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel (Griffiths) Strode.
Carol graduated from Ursinus College and Drexel University. Before retiring, she was the Director of the Montgomery County Library System. Carol enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting, knitting, reading and playing Scrabble.
Surviving along with her husband is a daughter Karen Lee Straub, wife of Greg Wallace of Upper Pottsgrove; a son Karl Erich Straub, husband of Desi, of Atlanta, GA and sisters Joan Koch, wife of Jerry, Judy Haftel, wife of Warren and Judy Strode. Also surviving are grandchildren Christopher Straub-Wallace, husband of Mackenzie of Manayunk and Kristin Wallace, wife of Robert Sutton of Lower Pottsgrove, Kelli Straub and Kimberly Straub, both of Atlanta, GA and great-grandchildren Emily, Sophia, & Landon Wallace-Sutton. She is predeceased by a sister Nancy Myers, a brother James Strode and beloved grandson Kyle Straub.

A caring and devoted Father and Grandfather; Lee was also a proud Marine, a talented woodworker and a dedicated volunteer for his church and community.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. and Lillian (Lare) Staub.
Lawrence was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed spending time fishing.
Along with his wife, he is survived by sons Larry Staub III, husband of Jen of Pennsburg, Brett Schaedler of Boyertown, Jacob Staub of Boyertown, and Jamie Staub of Zionsville; daughter Marci Staub of Egg Harbor; sisters Eleanor Woodley and Elizabeth Clayton; and eight grandchildren. Along with his parents Lawrence is predeceased by his daughter Dawn Staub and sisters Dorothy and Beatrice.

Evelyn F. Gaugler, 89, of Pottstown, formerly of Gilbertsville, wife of the late William Gaugler and Harper Gaugler, passed away Saturday at Sanatoga Center.
Born in LaPlata, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Clara B. (Cornett) Britton.
In addition to being a homemaker, Evelyn was employed at Boyertown Casket Company, and Knoll International, Inc. of East Greenville. She was an active member of the Boyertown Area Multiservice Senior Center, as well as both the New Hanover Fire Company and Ringing Hill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries. Evelyn was an attending member of the New Hanover Lutheran Church. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Harper E. Gaugler, husband of Dorothy of Gilbertsville, and H. Barbara Jean (Shrum) Rokoskie, 57, of Pottstown, wife of Gary Rokoskie, passed away Friday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Barbara (Brokenman) Shrum.
Barbara was an active member of the Coventry Cure Company Relay for Life team. She was a proud and dedicated employee of Force America, Inc. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed going shopping, as well as traveling to Disney World and Ocean City, NJ.
Surviving along with her husband is son Kyle J. Rokoskie of Columbus, OH; stepfather Elvin Hershey of Pottstown; mother-in-law Jean Bowman, wife of Lee of Pottstown; brothers George W. Shrum of Delaware, Donald L. Shrum, husband of Mary of Pottstown, Gary Shrum, husband of Lori of Pottstown, and James Shrum, husband of Theresa of Pottstown; godsons Donald and Aston Shrum; as well as many family and friends.

Beatrice A. Xanthopoulos, 94, of Pottstown, wife of the late Sophocles Xanthopoulos of sixty-one years passed away Sunday at Sanatoga Center.
Born in Gilberton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Guditus) Rudwolis.
Beatrice was the co-owner of the Crystal restaurant in Pottstown with her husband. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening.
She is survived by a son Philip Xanthopoulos, husband of the late Iris; a daughter Barbara Miller, wife of Gene; grandchildren Dean A. Miller, Barbara Wilkinson, wife of Paul, Philip Xanthopoulos, Jr., husband of Heather, and Sherri Lynne Xanthopoulos-Russo, wife of Richard; and five great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, husband, and daughter-in-law, Beatrice is predeceased by one brother and three sisters.

Geraldine enjoyed spending time shopping, especially for antiques.

Gladys Marie Eagle, 91, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011, in Avon Park, Florida. She was born July 17, 1920, to Charles Russell and Gladys (McClain) Davis in Smyrna, Delaware, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2009, coming from Pottstown, PA.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Pottstown and a member of the Doe Club of the Elks. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Phillies, Goodwill and Upper Pottsgrove Firehouses and participated in senior and widows groups in the Tanglewood Community in Sebring.
She is survived by her son, Robert Yeager and daughter, Shirley (Richard) Miller, both of Sebring; brothers, John and Charles Davis; sisters, Charlotte Hunsinger and Martha Bealer, all of Pottstown; ten grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Scheetz and Gerald Eagle and son Leonard Scheetz.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, 9:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown with Rev. Lisa Martin officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30-9:15 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pottstown Cemetery, East, Pottstown.

Anne Marie (Leahy) Daly, 73, wife of William F. Daly, passed away at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown on November 19, 2011.
Born in Brockton, MA, on May 28, 1938, and raised in Rockland, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Leahy. Together with family she enjoyed trips to the nearby South Shore beaches and weekend visits into South Boston to visit her grandparents and picnic on Boston Common. At a very early age, Anne found inspiration in literature and creative writing, working as a librarian after school at the Rockland Memorial Library from the age of 12. She graduated from Rockland High School in 1956 as the editor-in-chief of both the newspaper and yearbook, sparking her life-long passion for reading and education, returning later to earn a college degree in 1980 from MONTCO and attended Kutztown University.
Anne married William in 1963 and relocated to Pennsylvania where they settled in Sanatoga. Their family quickly grew with young sons William and Peter, and daughter, Patricia, where each received her gifts of language and creativity that enabled them to aspire, to ignite creatively and to achieve.
In recent years, Anne volunteered at the Montgomery County Literacy Network as a tutor in the adult literacy program and felt special connections each student, helping them to reach each milestone and to inspire them. She volunteered at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center for over 20 years and also contributed to the hospital’s Senior Circle newsletter literary review. She was active in the St. Aloysius Women’s Group and enjoyed its Book Club, group trips and time with friends.
Along with her husband, Anne is survived by her son William Daly Jr., Wilmington, DE, daughter Patricia (Daly) Simmers, Yardley, PA, grandchildren Liam, Lucy and Thomas Simmers, her siblings Carol (Leahy) Palermo, Hanson, MA, Patricia (Leahy) Opper, Hull, MA, Dorothy (Leahy) Turner, East Falmouth, MA, and Joseph Leahy, Marshfield, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Peter.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 10:00AM at ST. Aloysius RC Church, 223 Beech Street, Pottstown with Fr. Joseph L. Maloney officiating. Burial will follow in ST. Dorothy V. (Moyer) Drumheller, 91, wife of the late Leon Drumheller, passed away on Saturday at Frederick Living, in Frederick.
Born and raised in Boyertown, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Florence (Keller) Moyer.
Dorothy was a 1939 graduate of Boyertown High School and in June of 2008 attended her 70th class reunion. In her early years she was a Sunday school teacher at ST. John’s Lutheran Church in Boyertown.
She was retired from Ozans Pants Factory. She waitressed for her aunt Carrie and Paul Hilberts at the Barto Hotel and also in later years at the Boyertown Orioles. She loved her home, flowers and to garden and she and her late husband took many trips, and drove across the country many times.
She is survived by her sisters Anna Mae (Moyer) Bitler, wife of Charles F. Bitler Jr. of Pottstown, Helen (Moyer) Pavlick, wife of the late Joseph Pavlick, of Pottstown, Ethel (Moyer) Troop, wife of Francis Troop, of Elverson; brothers Paul L. Moyer, husband of Linda, of Yountsville, CA., and Karl Moyer Walters, husband of Dianne, of Newark, DE.; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her son Rodman “Sonny” Benfield and brothers John F., David L. and Robert Moyer.

Gertrude worked for NY Telephone Co. as an operator for 17 years and at Ole Towne Jewelers in Pottstown as a salesclerk for 10 years.
Surviving is her daughter Roberta Peterman of North Coventry Twp., her son Charles Waldheim, husband of Gail, of Hamilton, OH.; her brothers Frank Seaman of FL., James Wyanski of NY., and Richard Wyanski of Mass.; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents she is predeceased by son-in-law Earl Peterman, her brother Robert Wyanski and 2 sisters, Cathrine Sheller and Mary Friedler.

Violet Duym Swann, 90, died Tuesday at Parkhouse Providence Pointe. She was the wife of the late Eugene B. Swann. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Duym.
Mrs. Swann was the Coty Girl at Kresge and Bambergers department stores in Newark, NJ. She retired to Jensen Beach, FL where she enjoyed fishing, painting, reading, and her cat.
Survivors include a son, Eugene J. Swann and wife Sandra; granddaughter, Susan, wife of Douglas McKain; grandson, Michael Swann, husband of Tricia; great grandchildren, Rya Bo McKain and Jackson Ryan Swann.
Mrs. Swann will be interred with her husband, Eugene, at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

Janeann was a member of St. Columbkill RC Church in Boyertown where she was an active volunteer in many aspects of the church. She was an avid reader and a member of the Boyertown Book club. She also loved her dogs very much.
Surviving with her husband of 48 years are her sons David F. Archambault Jr., Daniel F. Archambault and Dennis P. Archambault; her sister Mary Lou DeFruscio; and granddaughter Heather M. Archambault.

Brenda attended Journey Church in Phoenixville. She is an animal lover and was active throughout her life in combating animal cruelty and promoting animal rescue.
Along with Darrell and her parents she is survived by her son William M. Quinn of Henderson, NV; her brothers Steve Fuller, husband of Tracy, Darryle Fuller, husband of Jeni, and Daniel Fuller, husband of Tara, as well as sister Bonnie, wife of Scott Thomas, all of Henderson, NV.

Charles A. Schwager Sr., 84, of Pottstown, husband of Geraldine (Trumbauer) Schwager, passed away on Thursday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Frank and Lillian (Slonaker) Schwager.
Charles was a US Army veteran. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #369 in Pottstown, the West End Fire Co., and a life member of #1 Fire Company in Stowe. Charles worked for the Perkiomen Valley School District as a security guard retiring from there in 1989.
Surviving with his wife of 63 years are children Betty Lou Carmean of Pottstown, Charles A. Schwager Jr., husband of Isabel, of Schwenksville, Elvis Schwager, husband of Penny, of Pottstown, Beverly Hopson, wife of Allen, of Sanatoga, and Mary Levengood, wife of Brian, of Chester; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his son Troy Schwager and his sisters Mary Lou Comaford and Lillian Favinger.

Kathy L. (Beekley) Smith, 62, of North Coventry Twp., Pottstown, wife of Carl E. Smith, passed away on Thursday at home with her family by her side.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur D. and Evelyn L. (Yocom) Beekley.
Kathy was a member of Cedarville United Methodist Church where she was a previous Sunday School teacher and a 1967 graduate of Owen J. Roberts. She worked for Doehler Jarvis in Pottstown for 27 years and for Softmart Inc. of Downingtown for the past 15 years. Kathy was a member of her Bonko Club, enjoyed walking, going to auctions and the beach. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Kathy was known by her family and friends as a kind-hearted, selfless, and caring person. She had a vibrant outlook on life that uplifted those around her.
Surviving with her husband of 27 years is daughter Mandi L. Knowles, wife of Daniel, of Pottstown and son Carl Jay Smith of Gilbertsville; brothers F. Leland Beekley, husband of Marie, of Casper, WY and Richard A. Beekley, husband of Patrice, of Pottstown; her twin sister Karen L. Alexa N. Bailey, 10 of Pottstown, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Monday, Nov. 7 with her family by her side.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Brett R. Bailey of Birdsboro and Stephanie L. (Dawson) Bailey and her companion Michael Hughes of Pottstown.
Alexa loved singing and dancing so much she was known as Lexi the Rockstar to her family and friends. She enjoyed arts & crafts and swimming. She bravely fought cancer for six years. Lexi was a beloved daughter, sister and friend, and will be sadly missed.
Surviving with her parents is her brother Dylan J. and her sisters Brittany M. and Savannah L. Bailey; her paternal grandmother Karen M. (Pace) Bailey and her maternal Grandparents Tim M. and Deborah S. (Gray) Dawson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

George H. Lightcap Sr., 66, of Gilbertsville, husband of Dianne M. (Gaugler) Lightcap, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late George W. and Hazel C. (Olinger) Lightcap.
George worked for Overnight Transportation, retiring after 30 plus years of service. He later worked for Jesse Baro part time for 4 years. He was a member of the West End Fire Co., St. Gabriele’s Lodge, the Knights of Columbus in Stowe and the Pottstown VFW Post #780. George enjoyed racing stock cars when he was younger. He loved spending time at the mountains riding 4 wheelers with his grandchildren and hunting with the boys.
Surviving with his wife of 48 years are sons George H. Lightcap Jr., Timothy G. Lightcap, husband of Michele P.; daughter Tammie J. Hoffman, wife of James A. Bernard “Ben” Liberatori, 81, of Stowe, formerly of Morea, PA, Brooklyn, NY, and Trenton, NJ, husband of the late Marie (DeNicco) Liberatori of fifty-three years passed away suddenly on Monday, All Saint’s Day.
Born in Morea, he was the son of the late Bernardo and Rose (DeNick) Liberatori.
Bernard was an amateur musician, playing the saxophone and clarinet in the Pottstown Community Spirit Band and the Pottsgrove Community Band where he played up until last spring. He was a lifetime member of the Stowe Lion’s Club, the Knights of Columbus, and St. Gabriel’s Lodge in Stowe, as well as an active member at St. Columbkill and St. Gabriel’s Parishes. Ben was a devout Catholic who often visited the Padre Pio shrine. He enjoyed spending time with his six Grandchildren and watching them sing, play instruments and perform. Through his three step-grandsons, he became an avid Phillies fan late in life.

Margaret was an avid reader and especially enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Colleen Brennan, 36, of Pottstown, wife of John R. Brennan Jr. passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Joseph J. and Maryanne (Morrissey) Loftus of Ivyland, PA.
Colleen received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from DeSales University in Center Valley and her MBA from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She worked as an accounting manager at Comcast in Oaks until 2006 and volunteered at St. Francis Academy School in Bally.
She was a member of St. Columbkill R.C. Church in Boyertown and Brookside Country Club in Pottstown. Colleen loved being at the shore in Ocean City, NJ and most of all loved being a mom to Jack.
Surviving along with her parents is a son, Jack; a brother Timothy J. Loftus, husband of Nandini of Bethlehem; and her sister Karen, wife of Dennis Murphy of Somerton, PA. Also surviving is a nephew Thomas Murphy.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday Nov. 5, 2011 at 11:30 AM at St. Columbkill R.C. Church, 200 Indian Springs Rd., Boyertown with Joseph G. Morrissey O.S.F.S. officiating. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Cecilia Louise (Gegor) and Keith Poole and Edwin B. Walters.
Lindsey attended St. Pius X High School in Pottstown and graduated from Upattinas in 2006. She enjoyed working and hanging out with her niece. She was a beloved daughter, sister and aunt and best friend to her mother and sister. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving with her parents is her sister Asere Victoria Lynn Morgan, wife of Douglas, of Pottstown; niece Reece Cecilia Morgan; and brothers Michael and Steven Walters.

Jonathan worked for Stoudts Ferry Preparation Co. for 15 years retiring in 2007. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, crafts and loved to do puzzles.

Charles E. Blockson Jr., 96, of Norristown, husband of the late Annie B. (Parker) Blockson who dies in 1988, passed away on Monday at Golden Living Center, Phoenixville.
Born in Montgomery, CO., he was the son of the late Charles E. Sr. and Elizabeth (Cabell) Blockson.
Charles was a self-employed contractor for Blockson & Son Construction for 50 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Norristown Elks Lodge #714, Norristown F & AM, and Siloam Baptist Church in Norristown where he was a member of the Choir. Charles loved to ski, golf and hunt too.
He is survived by his son Charles L. Blockson of Gweynedd and James E. Blockson of Charlotte, NC; daughters Mary Ann Barber of Sanatoga, Betty Elizabeth Thompson of Pottstown, Caroline Caulker of Douglassville, and Gertrude Poage of Pottstown. Also surviving are a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sons Richard E. and Willie D. Blockson and his brother David Blockson.
A graveside service will be on Friday, 10:00AM at Morris Cemetery, 428 Nutt Road, Phoenixville.

Richard T. “Rick” Padden, 64, of Birdsboro, wife of Sandra L. (Steinmetz) Padden, passed away suddenly on Monday at Reading Hospital.
Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Dorothy B. (Lobos) Padden.
Rick worked in quality control and production for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., SEAMCO, Mack Truck, Stanley G. Flagg Co., Boyertown Casket Co., and LNP Engineering Plastics (SABIC). He was a member of the Skyline Cruisers Auto Club and enjoyed traveling and going to car shows with Sandi. He was also a former member of the Pottstown Knights of Columbus Council 1192. Rick was an avid sports fan who loved to follow the Eagles, Phillies, and NASCAR.
Surviving with his wife of 37 years is his son Ryan E. Padden of Wyomissing; and his sister Denise A. Loshnowsky, wife of Robert, of Pottstown.

Agnes N. (Epps) Sell, 74, of Pottstown, wife of Terry L. Sell, passed away on Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Virgilina, VA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lydia Epps.
Agnes was a member of Linfield UCC Church, the Linfield Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Pottstown Senior Center. In addition, she was also a Hospice Volunteer for the Pottstown Visiting Nurses Association. She worked for Harleysville Insurance for 12 years and at the Spring City Knitting Mill.
Agnes loved gardening, enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting but most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving with her husband are children Mark Anthony, husband of Lori, of Spring City, Theresa Carter of Phoenixville, Matthew Anthony & Michele Smith of West Pottsgrove, Regina Carter, wife of William, of Harmonyville, Christina Anthony of West Pottsgrove, Brian Anthony, husband of Sherry, of Coopersburg, Gregory Anthony, husband of Angela of Gilbertsville, Terry L. Dave Rohrbach, 57, of Boyertown, passed away on October 4, 2011 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Linda Ruth (Nester) Rohrbach. Together they shared 38 years of marriage. He was born in Reading, PA on October 12, 1953 and was the son of David Earl Rohrbach, Sr. and Minerva L. (Pletz) Rohrbach..
Dave was a 1971 graduate of Pottsgrove High School and a 1975 graduate of Penn State University. Dave was Laboratory Manager at Quest Diagnostics, formally Omega Medical Laboratory of Wyomissing, PA.
Dave’s biggest love was spending time with his wife and son. Dave was a very loving and supporting husband and father. He was a proud Penn State Alumni and an avid Penn State football fan. He loved visiting Ocean City, MD with his family. During his spare time he enjoyed gardening. Everyone who knew him treasured his great sense of humor.
Surviving along with his wife and parents is a son, Timothy D. Rohrbach; a sister, Deborah Sparks wife of Ralph Sparks; and six nephews.

Herman H. Weller,88, of Gilbertsville, husband of the late Pauline E. (Miller), passed away on Tuesday at Manor Care Health Services, Pottstown.
Born in Clayton, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Annie (Heffner) Weller.
Herman worked and retired from Doehler Jarvis and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a lifetime member of the Keystone Fire Co. and Pikeville Sportsman’s Club. He also enjoyed his annual trip to the Oley Fair for the last 60 years.
Surviving is a daughter, Laurie Smith, wife of Jeffrey, of Gilbertsville; two sisters Arlene Smith of New Berlinville and Joyce Sokolowski of Delaware; Grandchildren Robert Weller, husband of Rebecca, Brandi Stalnecker, Ryan Smith and Peter Smith, husband of Christa. Rose worked as a telephone operator at the former Bell Telephone Co. in Pottstown. In the following years she worked for Tungsol, Misty Lingerie, and Witronics in Boyertown and Superior Tube CO. in Collegeville respectively.

Stanley J. Murphy, 79, of Pottstown, husband of Anna Mae (Deliman) Murphy, passed away on Saturday at Manor Care in Pottstown.
Born in Detroit, MI, and raised in Hazelton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Verna (Medvitz) Murphy. He then moved to Pottstown in 1953.
Stanley was a member of St. Aloysius RC Church in Pottstown where he was active as a parishioner and in the senior groups. He retired from Mrs. Smith’s Pie Co. in 1997 after working 31 years. He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus at the Fr. Bally Council #1192, and a member of Local #6 Bakers Union.
Stanley was an avid sports fan especially when it came to the Eagles and Phillies. He enjoyed going on trips and spending time with his family. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be sadly missed.
Surviving with his wife of 58 years are children Theresa R. Urban, wife of Steve, of Pottstown, Stanley J. Murphy III of Douglassville, Michael P. Murphy of Pottstown, Kevin J. Murphy, husband of Karen, of Douglassville and Elizabeth A. Shumaker, wife of the late John, of Pottstown; sister Rose Murphy of Ft. Robert Paul Boyer, 79, of Sanatoga, wife of Emma Sue Boyer, of 58 years, passed away Thursday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Sassamansville, he was the son of the late Charles Keifer and Florence May (Reinert) Boyer.
Robert served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully all of his days. He also worked as a plumber at Lockheed Martin Corporation and retired in 2003.
Surviving along with his wife are sons Robert N. Boyer husband of Kay of Washington, and Richard A. Boyer of Oley; daughter Sharon M. Coyle wife of Jeffrey B. of Spring Mount; and thirteen grandchildren.

Kelsey Lynn Kramer, 16, of East Nantmeal Twp., died tragically on Thursday Sept. 22, 2011.
She was the daughter of William A. Jr. and Lori A. (Glynn) Kramer, and sister of Kyle W. Kramer.
Kelsey was a junior at Owen J. Roberts High School where she played soccer for both the varsity team and the Vincent United Jaguars travel team. She liked music, was a bright student, and enjoyed having fun with her family and friends. Her sparkling eyes, extraordinary smile, and loving spirit will be sorely missed. Kelsey will always be remembered for living every moment to the fullest and touching so many hearts.

Margaret “Margie” Lalli, 80, of Philadelphia passed away Friday at the Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Pasqualina (Augustino) Scali.
Surviving are sons Joseph Fortunato, and Daniel Lalli; daughter Joanne Lepore, wife of Robert; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by two husbands, Stanley Fortunato and Joseph Lalli.
Funeral services are private.

Mary Jane P. (Gallagher) Kochish, 80, of Brooksville, FL, wife of Stephen J. Kochish, passed away on Sept. 11 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL.
Born in Manayunk, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Ida Mae (Pennegar) Gallagher.
Mary Jane was a member of St. Anthony’s RC Church in Brooksville and a former member of St. Columbkill RC Church in Boyertown, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #186 for 57 years, a member of the Brookridge Ceramic Club and former secretary of the Penn. Ceramic Club. She worked at Freed’s Market for 10 years retiring in 1987. She was also an avid knitter and loved to crochet.
Surviving with her husband, she is survived by her brother Francis Gallagher of Warminster. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers John E. Gallagher Jr. and Joseph V. Gallagher and her sisters Alice M. Hill and Marguerite E. Sowisdral.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 30, 11:00AM at St. Columbkill RC Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown with Fr. Martin F. Kern officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown. Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 30 from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the church.

Robert “Tony” Everingham, 60, of Pottstown, fiancé of Veronica Lightcap, passed away Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Gloria (Buchanan) Ziemba and the late Richard Everingham.
Tony enjoyed fishing, painting, cooking, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family.
Surviving Tony along with his mother and fiancé are sons Aaron Sigley, Anthony, David, and Daniel Everingham; four brothers; four sisters; one grandchild.
Including his father, Tony is predeceased by three brothers, one sister, and his beloved feline Herc.
A memorial service will be celebrated Friday at the VFW in Pottstown, 530 High St., Pottstown, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

Richard S. Werner, 81, of Pottstown, died peacefully on Tuesday September 20, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Royersford, where he resided since August 12, 2011.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Martin) Werner. They were married 55 years.
Born in Olyphant, PA he was the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Pluta) Werner. He grew up in Peckville, PA and was a graduate of Blakely High School and Temple University. He retired from Gilbert Commonwealth Engineering of Green Hills, as an Engineering Technical Writer. He served in the United States Marine Corp (USMC) during the Korean War as a Marine Staff Sergeant.
Surviving are two sons: Richard S. Werner, Jr. and his wife Margie of Wernersville, PA; Paul G. Werner and his wife Nanette of Fairfax Station, VA. He is survived by five grandchildren: Jessica (Werner) Wood and husband Richard, Rebecca Werner, Sarah Werner, Megan Werner, and Nicholas Werner, and triplet step grandchildren Nicholas, Demetrios, and Michael Kostomiris. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Erin, Brendan, Alexis, Gabrella, Tabitha, William, Annabella, and Dalilah.
He was an avid photographer and train and model railroad enthusiast, and member of the P & R Chapter- National Railway Historical Society.
A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 3640 Schuylkill Rd., Spring City, PA 19475 with Fr. Charles O’Hara officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius New Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30- 10:45 AM at the church.

Diana (Brisk) Brown, 63, of Boyertown, wife of William A. Brown, passed away on Saturday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Chester Springs, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Dorothea (Ferguson) Brisk.
Diana worked at Wal-Mart in Bechtelsville until Oct. 2010. She loved life and family and enjoyed working with her husband Bill at their kennel, “Wyntrebrook”, for 23 years where they would show and spoil their prized Great Danes.
Surviving with her husband of 30 years is her daughter Michelle Skitko, wife of Greg; step sons Kurt Brown, husband of Criss and William Brown II, husband of Kimberly; step daughter Tiffany Brown and step grandchildren Abbey, William III and Benjamin.
Services and interment are private.

Dennis W. Dout, 69, of Bechtelsville passed away Saturday at the VA Medical Center in Coatesville.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late William C. and June L. (Zook) Dout.
Dennis worked for the US postal service for twenty-two years and was a member of VFW Post 6811 in Vernon, NY and American Legion Post #0448 in San Francisco, CA. He served in Vietnam with the First Mobile Communications Group and Joint Task Force 116 in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
Surviving Dennis is his companion Kevin Maline; sister Gale Youse, wife of Rodney of Sanatoga; niece Beth Ann Weinsteiger, of Collegeville; and nephews Keith M. Weinsteiger, of New Berlinville, William Weinsteiger, of Kittaning, PA, and Robert Weinsteiger, of Sanatoga.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday at 7:30 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville. Richard B. “Dick” Clark, 83, of Spring City, husband of Anna E. (Betty Shade) Clark , passed away on Monday September 5th at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Royersford, he was the son of the late Benjamin D. and Cleta (Fairheller) Clark.
Dick was a member of First United Methodist Church in Phoenixville and was a lifetime member of Liberty Fire Company in Spring City. He worked for Tose Inc. as a truck driver 38 years. Dick was a PIAA Football referee for 8 years, was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 69 in Spring City and was manger for the Spring City Little League Athletics.
Surviving with his wife of 60 years are sons R. Wayne Clark, husband of Cynthia, of Douglassville, R. Merrill Clark, husband of Jean, of Pottstown, and Jeffrey L. Clark, husband of Abigail, of Rhynbeck, NY; brother Robert N. Clark, of Royersford; and grandchildren Jason, Thomas, Scott, Alex, and Katharine. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Janet Orbeck.

Born in Dallas, TX, she was the daughter of David L. Mackewicz and the late Virginia A. (Johnson) Mackewicz.
Darlene was an employee of the John Middleton Company, and she was a hair dresser. She enjoyed watching movies and spending time with her family.
Surviving her are two children, Edward and Alissa, and two grandchildren, Haley and Eddie.

Larry R. Dreisbach, 68, of Pottstown, husband of the late Virginia A. (Freese) Dreisbach, passed away on Sept. 1 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center after a battle with bone cancer.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Virginia L. (Snyder) Dreisbach.
Larry worked for Boyertown Casket Factory as a time study engineer from 1972-1981. He later worked at Limerick Nuclear Generating Center as a security guard. Larry loved going camping and playing cards with family or friends. In the summer you would find Larry on his front porch enjoying ice tea and talking to his neighbors. Larry loved music, playing stand up bass in the 60’s with the 5 piece band "Crystal Aires". When he was younger he enjoyed hunting, fishing and biking.
Surviving is his son Michael T. Dreisbach of Perkasie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 7:00PM at the Pottstown Knights of Columbus, 675 Constitution Avenue, Stowe, with Melissa (Dreisbach) Moore, M. Div. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30PM to 7:00PM. Burial will be private.

Calvin C. Wilder, Sr., 87, Loving Family Man
|
At 3:38 PM on September 5, 2011, Calvin Coolidge Wilder, Sr., surrounded by family, peacefully departed this earthly life for eternal life. He was born on October 5, 1923 in Brownsville, TN to Van and Betty (Kennon) Wilder. He received his formal education at the Haywood County Training School. Brother Wilder entered the US Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. After his discharge from the Army, he enrolled in Tennessee Agriculture and Industrial State College (Tennessee State) majoring in industrial engineering under the G.I. bill. Calvin re-entered the US Army in June 1946 and served until August 1969. During his Army career, Brother Wilder was stationed at Japan (1951); Korea (1952); Walter Reed Army Hospital (1954); Valley Forge Army Hospital (1958); Korea (1961); Germany (1963); and retired from the US Army at Fort Lewis, Washington as a Command Sergeant Major with outstanding decorations and medals. Following his Army retirement, he was employed at Pennhurst State School and Hospital as a Personnel Analyst for 15 years. Brother Wilder was a Cub Scout leader and a volunteer for Pottstown Meals-On-Wheels.
Brother Wilder professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1954 and became a member of Second Baptist Church, Pottstown, PA. Brother Wilder served on many ad hoc committees and was a member of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Wilder joined Keystone Lodge No. 113 Free & Accepted Masons in 1956. He was elected Worshipful Master 1964-1965. He was elected Lodge Secretary in 1972 and continued to serve until 1986. He served as Secretary of the Fourth Masonic District Council in 1976. He became a member of Keystone Chapter #87, O.E.S. and was elected Worthy Patron in 1983 serving in this office until 1997. Brother Wilder was also an active member of Mt. Pisgah Lodge #32, Norristown, PA. He was an active member of the Prince Hall Masons for over 50 years.
Calvin married Eutropia B. Shepard of Stanton, TN on January 24, 1941. Calvin and Eutropia were married for 66 years when she passed on March 31, 2007. To this union, 8 children were produced: Victor C. Deanna) of Pineville, LA; Victoria B. Crews of Columbus, OH, Thaylord C. (deceased); Gaylord (deceased); Caltropia B. of Philadelphia, PA; Calvin C. Jr. (Jacquelyn) of Sanatoga, PA; Van C. (Lynette) of Reading, PA and Israel C. (Trina) of Palm Desert, CA. Calvin was preceded in death by Bernice Wilder Moore (sister). Brother Wilder also leaves 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.
The Homegoing Services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the family visitation from 9:30-11:00 AM. A Masonic observance will occur at 10:30 AM. All services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 414 High St., Pottstown, with Rev. Dr. Vernon Ross, Jr. officiating.

Shirley A. (Nester) Haring, 70, of Pottstown, wife of Barry I. Haring, passed away on Sunday at Keystone Villa in Douglassville.
Born in Pottstown on Dec. 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon and Edna (Conrad) Nester.
Shirley dearly loved her husband of 53 years. She enjoyed meeting with friends every morning for coffee, loved driving her convertible and shopping with her friend Gail. Her favorite place was the ocean and she could be found tanning on the beach during the summer time. She worked at Fashion Colony and Market America Distributors but was best known for waiting on customers at the Burger King Drive Thru on High Street. She volunteered and helped raise funds for the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra and the Heart Association. She loved having fun with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her flower beds and was known for putting spinning wheels in the pots outside. Shirley had a zest for life, liked to have fun, and always had a smile on her face. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family members and always remembered.
Surviving with her husband are sons Barry C. Haring, husband of Lisa B. and 3 children, and Jeffrey S. Haring, husband of Lisa and their 2 grandchildren; sisters Betty Repco and Nancy Yoder and son in law Kurt Elliott and his 2 children. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Denise Elliott.

Joseph “J” Dyroff, 47, of Pottstown, formerly of Phoenixville, husband of Dawn M. (Weir) Dyroff, passed away on Saturday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born in Malvern, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Elizabeth A. (Smith) Dyroff.
Joseph worked for Polychem for 18 years and McAvoy Brick for the last 7 years. He loved Mustang cars, dirt bikes and enjoyed going to auctions. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
Surviving with his wife of 17 years are sons Justin Dyroff, husband of Brandy, of Stowe and James Dyroff of Pottstown; sisters Robin Glantz of NY, Diana Boudjouk, wife of Edward, of AZ, Mary Lou Dyroff of Royersford, Anne Marie Swist, wife of Scott, of Spring City and Michelle Dyroff of KY; brother Russell Dyroff, husband of Margo, of Robesonia and James Dyroff of OH; several nieces and nephews; a great niece and a great nephew that is on the way. He will also be sadly missed by his canine companions Louie and Zoose and Ziggy the cat. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Steven Dyroff.

Janice L. (Vanderslice) Keyser, 85, wife of the late Paul L. Keyser, passed away on Saturday September 3rd with her family by her side, at Frederick Living in Frederick, PA.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd L. and Hazel (Rupert) Vanderslice.
Janice was a member of the First Church on the Brethren in Pottstown where she was active as the church clerk for 40 years and was a lifetime deacon. She worked as a bookkeeper at the former D & B Kitchens and at the New Hanover Township office. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting and canning. She was a wonderful mother and a beloved grandmother who will be sadly missed.
Surviving is her son Lane Keyser, husband of Peggy, of Spring City; daughters Diane Kumpf, wife of Timothy, of Gilbertsville, Rev. Jill Speicher, wife of Rev. Tim, of Reading and Judy Keyser of Elgin, IL; grandchildren Amy and Emily Kumpf and Garrett Keyser; sisters Lois Fuhrman of Sanatoga and Mary Jane Quackenbos of Gilbertsville.

Catherine I. (Yergey) Houser, 95, of Pottstown, passed away on Friday at the Sanatoga Center.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Miller) Yergey.
Catherine worked as a secretary at Doehler Jarvis. She liked to bowl and play shuffleboard. She also loved music and was a pianist.
She is survived by her niece, Irene Snyder, of Honeybrook and many other nieces and nephews.

SHIRLEY A. DOLLA, 72, beloved mother

Shirley Ann (Shaner) Dolla, 72, of Monocacy Station (now Douglassville) and of Shade Gap, Huntingdon County, died peacefully in her home of nearly 40 years Thursday morning after bravely battling chronic illnesses for many years.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Daniel M. Dolla and survived by children, Susan Barbary of Boyertown, wife of John Barbary, Christine Elliott of Douglassville, wife of Mark Elliott, Diane Chernaskey of Douglassville, Daniel Dolla, Jr., of St. Lawrence, husband of Amy Schuler Dolla, and Donald Dolla, of Birdsboro. Also surviving are grandchildren, Lauren Elliott Moss, Renee Elliott, Tad Elliott, Samuel Barbary, Rachel Chernaskey, Ellen Chernaskey, and Daniel William Dolla.
Shirley was born at home in Gilbertsville, September 30, 1938 to the late Mamie (Hilbert) Shaner and Claude Stoudt Shaner. Shirley grew up in Gilbertsville and Perkiomenville, and was a member of the Keilor’s Reformed Church on Big Road. She is predeceased by sisters, Viola (Shaner) Geist, Annabelle Shaner, Betty (Shaner) Dolla, Helen Shaner and step-siblings Charles Shaner and Sarah Shaner. Surviving siblings include Verna (Shaner) Good, Eleanor Shaner, Pearl (Shaner) Greist, Claude Shaner , Harry Shaner and half-brother Elmer Hilbert.
A kind wife and mother, Shirley was devoted to raising her five children and managing her family’s household while working as a bookkeeper for her husband’s painting business for forty-five years, first in Pottstown and then in Monocacy Station. Throughout her life, Shirley worked side-by-side with her husband on their homes and business. A grateful person, Shirley appreciated her growing family and she enjoyed art and listening to music. In recent years, Shirley was very comforted by the enjoyment of reading and from the visits of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31 at Catagnus Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, with a graveside service following at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick.

Gerald loved boating on the Chesapeake Bay, wood working, and was an avid reader, and historian.
Surviving are daughters Lisa Baro, wife of David, of Douglassville, and Donna Little, of Gilbertsville; stepdaughters Robin Smith, wife of Dr. John S. Smith, of Hightstown, NJ, and Rene Kligerman, wife of Glenn, of Tuckerton, NJ; grandchildren Krista Fretz, Bryan Little, Caitlin and Chloe Baro, Sarah Trevino, Emily, Rebecca, and Jack Smith, and Seth Kligerman; great grandchildren Joshua and Mattie Little, and Abigail and Jackson Fretz; and his loving canine companion Britta.

Ernest "Ernie" Fanaro, 82, of Collegeville, husband of the late Velia (Imposimato) Fanaro, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Phoenixville Hospital, surrounded by his children.
Born on January 3, 1929, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Filomeno and Concetta (Bruno) Fanaro.
Ernie was a hard worker even in his younger years. He had the gift to make rough times a fun time like when he served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed reminiscing with others about all the mischievous antics he got into. He worked hard to open his store "Fanaro Brothers", which the community still remembers with affection. In his later years, he worked at Sears in Collegeville and when he retired he opened Mama Velia's restaurant with his two sons and enjoyed giving a hand at Marzella's Pizzeria. He loved to share his smile and his heart with others, often showing up surprisingly with a pizza, bag of groceries, or toys for children.
His four children Nina, Anita, Robby, and Rick and his grandchildren Ryan, Alex, Leo, Nick, Cooper, and Mia say a special good-bye. He will always be our "#1 hero".

Born in Frederick, he was the son of the late Claude and Elsie (Renninger) Brendlinger.
Surviving is daughter Dawn F. Sekellick, wife of Ronald E. of Frederick; sons Brian L. Brendlinger, husband of Beth (Hunter) of Pottstown, and Craig R. Brendlinger, husband of Peggy (Cartwright) of Upper Pottsgrove. He is also survived by a sister, Arlene Heilner of Elverson, eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest, FMC.
Dr. Leroy was an avid golfer and hunter. He enjoyed hunting with the Gin-Roy Hunting Club and spending time at his Pocono Mt cabin.
He is a graduate of Boyertown High School 1936; BS, West Chester State College 1946; MS, University of PA 1949; Ed.D., Temple University, 1959. He began teaching in East Greenville, but his career was interrupted by Military Service. He is also a graduate of Officer Candidate School Aberdeen, MD where he served as Lieutenant in the US Army Ordinance Department and also served two years in the European Theatre. After military service he taught in New Hanover Township. He held positions as principal in Plymouth Township Schools, Supervising Principal of Lower Pottsgrove School, Assistant County Superintendent of Montgomery County, and Founding President of Montgomery County Community College.
His community involvement included Chairman of SCORE, Chp. 594, Tri-County; area past president of Montg. County Health and Welfare Council; and he served on the Board of Directors for Montgomery Hospital and the Board of Lutheran Children and Family Service.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, 11:00 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Obelisk, with Rev. Arlene Greenwald officiating. Burial will follow in Keelor’s Union Cemetery, Obelisk. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00-10:45 AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Philip E. Pfanders, 75, of Eagleville, passed away Monday at Chestnut Knoll, surrounded by family.
Born in Barronhill, he was the son of the late Frank and Louise (Pachella) Pfanders.
Philip was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.
Surviving are daughters Kathy Pfanders and Debby Singleton, wife of Harry; sons Kevin Pfanders, husband of Teri, Kenny Pfanders, husband of Joanne, and Rich Pfanders, husband of Shelly; brothers Frank and George Pfanders; and six grandchildren.
A casual life celebration will be held at Moorheads catering in Collegeville Monday August 22, 2011 from 5 PM to 9 PM.

Mildred Louise (Greisiger) Duncan, 88, wife of the late William E. Duncan, passed away on Sunday at Frederick Mennonite Community where she was a resident for the past three years.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Louise (Heim) Greisiger.
Mildred was a graduate of Frankford High School. During World War II she served as an active member with the Philadelphia Stage Door Canteen. Living in Bally and Boyertown she worked for First Federal Bank in Boyertown as a bank teller and at Bause’s Drug Store as well as Fecera’s Furniture Store in Pottstown. She was a long-time member, and past president, of the Boyertown Women’s Club. She was a faithful member of Herford Mennonite Church in Bally. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #444, Boyertown Faith Chapter. She attended the Center at Spring Street in Boyertown for many, many years.
She is survived by son Dr. David Duncan, husband of Doreen and grandson, Brian, husband of Hannelore and grandson Craig; son Philip, husband of Ashi and granddaughter, Asal Naraghi; daughter Susanne Gresh, wife of Dale, and grandson, Jeffery, husband of Dora and great-grandson Evvan, granddaughter Pamela Mullins, wife of C. Ted and great-granddaughters, Romy and Reese; granddaughter, Katherine Gresh; daughter Wendy Duncan; and brother Jack, husband of Toni Onyx of Chandler, AZ.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church, 750 N. Evans Street, Pottstown. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30AM to 10:45AM at the church, with an Order of the Eastern Star service to start at 10:45AM.

Linwood S. “Linny” Eddinger, 85, of Boyertown, husband of the late Janet L. (Grim) Eddinger, passed away on Friday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Colebrookdale Twp., he was the son of the late Howard and Ella (Swavely) Eddinger.
Linwood was a member of Good Shepherd UCC in Boyertown where he was a member of the bible study class and a Stephen Minister. He also served as a deacon and trustee for their consistory. He worked at Boyertown Auto body for 43 years retiring in 1989. Linwood was a lifetime member of Friendship Hook & Ladder Fire Co. in Boyertown, a WWII Army Veteran, was an avid tennis player, and was a founding member and coach for the Boyertown Midget League for 20 years.
He is survived by his sons James A. of Mertztown, Dennis L. of Birdsboro, Kevin B. of Gilbertsville, and David N. Eddinger of Perkiomenville; brother Carl Eddinger of Bally; sister Evelyn Taylor of Earlville; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Esther Reifsnyder and Kathryn Angstadt.

Jean K. (Moyer) Ross Hoffman, 66, of Boyertown, wife of Horace G. Hoffman, passed away on Saturday at Berkshire Center in Reading.
Born in Reiffton, she was the daughter of the late Xavier D. and Mary W. (Reitnauer) Moyer.
Jean worked at Cabot Supermetals as a senior accounting clerk for 40 years, retiring in 2006. She loved her garden and participated in charities such as The Lions Club. She was a huge fan of Elvis and Kenny Rogers and loved her Chihuahua Opie.

Joseph Pihanich Sr., 81, of Pottstown, husband of Daisy M. (Sands) Pihanich, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Michael and Helen (Kostick) Pihanich.
Joseph was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Pottstown. He was retired from both Firestone Tire Co. and Bethlehem Steel. Joe liked to fish, coach little league baseball, watch the Phillies and the Eagles and most importantly loved his grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife of 53 years are his sons Joseph Jr., husband of Debra, of Pottstown, and David, husband of Joyce, of Reifton; grandchildren Michael, Seth, Alexander, Abigail and Charlotte. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Michael and John.

Richard C. “Oldie” “Stryker” McGinley Sr., 65, of Gilbertsville, husband of Carol L. (Kreeb) McGinley, passed away on Wednesday at home after a battle with cancer surrounded by family.
Born in Ambler, he was the son of the late Robert A. Sr. and Grace Irene (Krause) McGinley.
Richard was a member of the American Italian Bocce Club in Royersford, and the American Legion Post #602 in Spring City. He worked for JMG Excavating for 15yrs and worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting, but most of all spending time with his family.
Surviving with his wife of 13 years are children Richard C. McGinley Jr, husband of Ann, Dana L. Stoudt, wife of Randy, Henry Weiner, husband of Sissy, Samantha Kinn, wife of Warren, V. Justine was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament, Bally and the Bally Senior Center. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed reading and crocheting.

George H. Hudick, 84, of North Coventry, husband of Eleanore B. (Bechtel) Hudick, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4th at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in North Coventry, he was the son of the late Jacob and Clara Hudick.
George was a member of Zion’s United Church of Christ in Pottstown. He served in the Army Air Corps, European Theater during WWII and a member of the American Legion Post #113. George was the owner and founder of Norco Welding in Pottstown, was the Chester County Deputy Prothonotary and later became a welding instructor at Graterford Prison where he retired. He had a passion for auto racing as a driver and later the owner of the Norco Welding Racing Team which competed at local dirt tracks and Daytona International Speedway. He was a 50 year member of Stichter Masonic Lodge #254 F & AM, Pottstown, the Reading Consistory Scottish Rite Valley of Reading, the America Automobile Club of America, Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Assoc., the Antique Truck Club of American, the PA Assoc. of School Retirees, and the Birdsboro Sportsmen’s Club. George was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsmen with a passion for antique car and truck shows and flea markets along the east coast.
Surviving with his wife of 58 years is his daughter Jill A. Hudick, wife of Karl M. and their daughter Kortne, and son George Van Hudick, husband of Angela L., and their children Kyle and Katie. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings Helen Hudick Tressler, John Hudick, Anna Hudick Heltsinger, Rudolph Hudick, and Stephen Hudick, Sr.

George Seavey Hill, 88, of Sanatoga, died on August 3, 2011, at the Keystone Villa at Douglasville.
George was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on November 5, 1922, the second of two children of Charles and Minnie Hill. He served in the Army during WWII. He graduated from the Packard School of Business and attended Rutgers University. He then worked as a salesman for Uarco Business Forms for 30 years before beginning his own company, George Hill Systems, in 1980. He and his wife Mary were married for 63 years, and raised five children. George was a Boy Scout Troop Leader and an Indian Guide father; he was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Temple for many years; he belonged to the Pagoda Toastmasters and the Schuylkill County Lions, and was an enthusiastic contributor to Habitat for Humanity. George was always young at heart and always interested in learning new things, from sailing, to computer technology, to philosophy. He was a charming guy who touched everyone who knew him. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary; children George (Susan), Judith (Sara), Marge Rutter (Tom), Donald, and Jonathan (Stacy); five grandsons, two granddaughters, one step-granddaughter, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Ahearn.
A memorial service will be held in the Community Center at Sanatoga Ridge on September 3.

William G. McFarland, 81, husband of 47 years to E. Gloria “Dolly” (Mosteller) McFarland, of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday at the Life Care Hospital of Chester County in West Chester. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Beatrice (Tartar) McFarland, and the late William McFarland.
He was a United States Navy Veteran, and had been a long time employee and supervisor of the former Metropolitan Oil Company of Phoenixville, and also a supervisor of the former Philco Company of Spring City. Bill was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Phoenixville Masonic Lodge, and also a member of the Masonic Scottish Valley Rite Consistory of Reading. He was also a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxilliary, and one of the founders of the Quarter Midget Racing Club of Phoenixville. Bill enjoyed boating on the Delaware Bay, the Jersey Shore, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children; Bill McFarland, husband of Donna, of Pottstown, Debbie Wells, wife of Richard, of Pottstown, and Bob McFarland, husband of Kathy, of Douglassvile, his grandchildren; Lisa Grebe, Nicole McFarland, and Danielle McFarland, and his great-grandchildren; Chloe Grebe, and Maddix William McFarland.

Betty J. (York) Follweiler, 80, formerly of Pottstown, wife of the late Jay Richard Follweiler, Sr., passed away on Wednesday at Berks Heim in Leesport, Pa. Born in Tamaqua, Pa.,she was a daughter of the late Hurla (Heind) York, and the late Robert York.
She was a 1948 graduate of Tamaqua High School, and for many years had owned and operated her own residential cleaning business. Betty enjoyed gardening, taking care of animals, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter; Patricia L. Farina, wife of Larry, of West Reading, her son; Jay Richard Follweiler, Jr., husband of Linda, of Pottstown, her sister; Anna Teel, of Utah, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Herbert D. Conrad, 82, husband of 61 years to Pauline J. (Moyer) Conrad, of Gilbertsville, passed away on Monday at his residence. Born in Colebrookdale, Pa., he was a son of the late Stella (Shirey) and Myron Conrad.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed for many years as a mechanic in the maintenance industry. Herbert was a long time member of Saint Luke Lutheran Church of Gilbertsville who was very active in many of the church activities. He enjoyed working around his home and spending time with his family.

Janet was a member of the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Royersford. She was a Phillies fan and loved to read and quilt. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her children A. Kathleen Neiman of Spring City, Tim B. Wisler, husband of Roxanne, of Youngstown, OH, Cindy E. Lind, wife of Mike, of Royersford and Thomas W. Wisler of Douglassville; grandchildren Ken, Amy, Bill, Jody, Ty, Katie, Tim and Colin; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her 3 sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 10:00AM at the Church of the Epiphany, 209 S. 3rd Ave., Royersford, PA 19468 with Rev. Jennie Anderson officiating. Friends may pay respects from 9Am to 10AM at the church. Burial will be private.

William “Bill” LeRoy Dotterer, 80, of Boyertown

William “Bill” LeRoy Dotterer, 80, of Boyertown, husband of Mary Ellen (Quaintance) Dotterer, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday at his residence.
Born in Colebrookdale, he was the son of the late John H. and Lucy (Wolfe) Dotterer.
Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1947-1951, and was a Corporal in the Korean War. After the service, Bill was employed at Kawecki Berylco Industries for thirty-nine years and retired in 1993. He enjoyed spending time bowling, fishing with his grandchildren, watching Nascar and old cowboy movies, playing cards, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Along with his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his daughters Vicki Zearfoss, wife of William Jr. of Boyertown; and Lori Moyer, wife of Marvin Moyer of Boyertown; son John Dotterer of Cleveland, TN.Grandchildren Cortnie Gotschall, Scot Moyer, Kristi Hopkins, William A., Desiree, and Brittany Dotterer,and Craig Zearfoss; Great grandchild Saige Marie; sisters Anna Endy and Mary Jane Rittle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his infant daughter Margie.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, with Chaplain Elaine Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:30-10:45AM at the funeral home.

Arlan “Ali” C. Sell, 60, of Bechtelsville, husband of Cindy J. (Wentzel) Sell, passed away suddenly on Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Paul and Geneva (Wentzel) Sell.
Arlan was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Upper Perk Sportsmen’s Association and a former member of the Boyertown American Legion Post 473. Arlan was an avid hunter, loved going to the mountains and most of all spending time with his family.
Along with his wife of 38 years, he is survived by his son Christian P. Sell, husband of Mary; siblings Pauline Weller, Gary, Bernard and David Sell, Mary Delo, Brian “BJ” Sell, Roger Sell and Joe Raysor; and grandchildren Paul and Tiffany Sell. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Charmain Schoch, and Maddy, Doris and Audrey Sell.
Services and interment are private.

John J. “Jack Meade Jr. 70, of Pottstown

John J. “Jack” Meade, Jr., 70, husband of 44 years to Diane J. (DeNicco) Meade of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Kathryn (Kelly) Meade, and the late John J. Meade, Sr.
Jack was a 1958 graduate of Saint Pius High School, and a 1962 graduate of Villanova University, where he earned a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering. At the time of his death he was the president of the Columbia Boiler Company and its many affiliates. He was a long time member of Saint Aloysius R.C. Church in Pottstown, and a member of Brookside Country Club for over 40 years. Jack was an avid runner, and a founding member of the Pottstown Pacers Running Club. His greatest accomplishments in running came from participating in all 33 Philadelphia Distance Runs, and completing numerous marathons, including the Boston Marathon. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he will be especially missed by his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons; John Joseph Meade, III, and Timothy A. Meade, both of Pottstown, his daughter; Laurie B. Feldman, of Pottstown, his grandchildren; Sierra, Ethan, Aidan, Isabelle, and Tasha, his brothers; James Meade, of Pottstown, Thomas Meade, of Pottstown, Francis Meade, of Boyertown, his sister; Virginia Herrera, of Reading, his cousin; Nancy Hartenstine, of Philadelphia, and many nieces and nephews.

Elmer R. Conrad, 83, husband of 60 years to Catherine M. (Hollenbach) Conrad of Douglass Township, Berks County, passed away on Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown. Born in Bechtelsville, he was a son of the late Ida (Ridenauer) Conrad, and the late Elmer E. Conrad.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, a long time truck driver, and he had also been employed for over 20 years at the former Firestone Company of Pottstown. Elmer was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Amityville, and a life member of the Boyertown Friendship Hook & Ladder Company, Gilbertsville Fire Company, and Upper Pottsgrove Township Fire Company # 1.
In addition, he was also a member of the Oley Fire Company, Keystone Fire Company # 1 of Boyertown, Gablesville Athletic Club, Charles B. Yerger American Legion Post of Boyertown, Pikeville Township Sportsmen Association, and Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. Elmer enjoyed spending time with his family, and driving his tractor.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons; E. Robert Conrad, husband of the late Faye, of Jacksonville, Fl., and Gary H. Conrad, husband of Joanne, of Pottstown, his granddaughter; Amanda Conrad, his sister; Elsie Nuss, and many nieces and nephews.

David A. Nuzzo, 54, of Reading, and formerly of Lower Pottsgrove, passed away on Friday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Beverly (Gabel) Nuzzo of Lower Pottsgrove, and the late Arthur J. Nuzzo.
He was a 1976 graduate of Pottsgrove High School and Automotive Training Center, and had been employed for over 25 years by Mobile Dredging & Pumping Company of Chester. David enjoyed building and riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his children; Missy Nuzzo, of Reading, Josh Goldman, of Birdsboro, and Nicole Fink, of Lower Pottsgrove, his grandchildren; Devin, Michele, and Morgan, his brother; Randy Nuzzo, of Richmond, Va., his sister; Beverly Gruber, of Boyertown, and many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn Williams, beloved mother & grandmother
|
Kathryn (Kleman) Williams, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother entered into eternal rest with her Savior on June 29, 2011 just 22 days before her 93rd birthday.
She is predeceased by her husband, Harold William Williams in 1986, her son, Reverend Robert Harold Williams in 1989, and her granddaughter Rachael Lynn Williams in 1990. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Jenny wife of Eugene Jenny, Sunbury, Ohio, Jean Webb, wife of Millard Webb of New Castle, Delaware and Jeannette Kleman of York. She leaves behind to cherish her memory 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and her brother William Kleman.
Kathryn was born in Pottstown on July 21, 1918 to the late Michael & Suzanna (Donau) Kleman and grew up on a farm in New Hanover. Kathryn graduated from the Swamp School in New Hanover, and Goldey Beacon School of Business. She was a dedicated homemaker after marrying Harold Williams on June 14, 1941. After her children grew older, she worked as a nursing assistant at Valley Forge Military Hospital, Pennsburg State Hospital and the Memorial Hospital of Pottstown. She was also active in the Orioles Ladies Auxiliary Drill Team.
Kathryn was a regular member of the New Hanover Lutheran Church in Gilbertsville until she was unable to drive then moved her membership to Grace Lutheran Church in Pottstown. She was a lifelong resident of Pottstown until she moved to Sprenkle Village of Luther Social Services in York, Pennsylvania in 1999 and remained there until her death.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, 12:30pm at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Rev. Andrew Wirt officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:30am to 12:15pm at the funeral home.

Raymond L. Davidheiser, 83, of Pottstown

Raymond L. Davidheiser, 83, husband of 63 years to Sarah A. (Mogel) Davidheiser, of Pottstown, passed away on Thursday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Florence May (Johnson) Davidheiser, and the late Hilary E. Davidheiser.
He was a 1947 graduate of Pottstown High School, and a long time employee of the former Robinson Clay Pipe Manufacturing Company who retired as a twenty year foreman of the company. Raymond had also been employed as a salesman for several years at the former Spence Ford, and he was also the former owner of Boyer’s Shoe Store. He was a member of the East Vincent United Church of Christ, and formerly a long time member of Saint James United Church of Christ in Limerick, where he was very active and served on many church committees. He was also the organizer of the RoClay Credit Union, which later became the Tri-County Credit Union. Raymond and his wife Sarah were united in marriage on December 29, 1947, in Elkton, Maryland. He will always be remembered as a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter; Linda Price, wife of Bill, of Pottstown, his son; Robert Davidheiser, husband of Karen, of Pottstown, his sister; Mary Jane Coleman, of New York State, his grandchildren; Daniel Price, Austin Davidheiser, Reverend Katherine Davidheiser, Morgan Davidheiser, Martin Davidheiser, Brian Davidheiser, and Michelle Bridge, his great-grandchildren; Emily Davidheiser, Samuel Davidheiser, Wesley Bridge, Isabelle Bridge, Lillian Bridge, Zachary Shine, Skylur Davidheiser, and Kloe Davidheiser. He was also preceded in death by his son; the late William A. Davidheiser.

Mildred “Millie” Bernhard, 87, of Gilbertsville, wife of the late Harry Bernhard, passed away on Wednesday at Frederick Mennonite Community.
Born in Niantic, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Eva (Reigner) Gaugler.
Mildred was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ in Barto, and enjoyed volunteering her time at the Boyertown Senior Center.
Surviving is granddaughter Lori Skulski, wife of John; brother Leroy (Jim) Gaugler; sisters Arline Gaugler and Shirley Kolb. She is also survived by great grandchildren Jordan Gerhardt and Kaya Skulski, along with six nieces and two nephews.
Including her parents, she is predeceased by her only son, Larry Gene Bernhard, her brother Ernest Gaugler and sister Marian Bernhard.

Ernest E. Roberts, 80, of Bechtelsville, husband of Doris D. (Zellers) Roberts, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
Born in Slatington, Lehigh Co., he was the son of the late Steward and Edna (Schaeffer) Roberts.
Ernest was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bechtelsville. He served in the Army as a paratrooper and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Ernest worked for the Bechtelsville Post Office as the Post Master retiring in 1990. He was a former member of the Bechtelsville Fire Co and served on the Boyertown School Board for 2 years.
Surviving with his wife of 60 years is his daughter Kim Roberts of Boyertown. Along with his parents he is predeceased by his brother Karl and sister Marian Pallo.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 11:00AM at Bechtelsville Union Cemetery, Bechtelsville with Rev. Eugene Zaiser officiating.

Myrtle E. (McAfee) Anderson, 89, of Pottstown, wife of the late Vaughn R. Anderson, passed away on Tuesday at Parkhouse Providences Pointe nursing home.
Born in East Nantmeal, Chester Co., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Eyrich) McAfee.
Myrtle was a former member of Trinity Reformed Church in Pottstown, the women’s auxiliary for the Frontier Archery Club and the Christian Women’s Association of Pottstown. She worked for ICI Americas, Inc in Valley Forge as an electronic assembler for 18 years and the former Philco in Spring City for 6 years.
Surviving is her daughter Gale L. Coughlin, wife of James, of Kitty Hawk, NC, son Gary W. Anderson, husband of Elyne, of Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren Lisa Mertz, Nadine Pence, Jennifer Cales, Matthew Anderson, and Debbie Eaton; and 10 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Martha, Mary, Hazel, and Alice and her brothers Clair, Mike and Ed.

Kermit Raymond Lenhart, 89, husband of 67 years to Mildred H. (Hollowbush) Lenhart of Gilbertsville, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011, at Manor Care in Pottstown. Born in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late Edna M. (Shade) Lenhart, and the late Raymond S. Lenhart.
A graduate of Boyertown High School and Benjamin Franklin University (now Georgetown University), Mr. Lenhart was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was an active member of Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Gilbertsville and served on the church council and various committees. Kermit was a charter member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop #36 in Gilbertsville, a member of the Boyertown Rotary Club, the Boyertown Lodge F & AM, the Boyertown American Legion, served on the local school board, and a board member of the National Bank of Boyertown for 24 years. Employed at the Boyertown Auto Body Works for 42 years, he served as treasurer and later became a co-owner. He also enjoyed spending time woodworking and horticulture.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons; Bruce K. Lenhart, husband of Jeanne, Peter D. Lenhart, husband of Gaye, and Jack A. Lenhart, husband of Carol, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, the late Mildred Leininger.

James W. Montague, Jr., 72, husband of 52 years to Eleanor (Stufflet) Montague of Pottstown, passed away on Monday at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Marie (Seavers) Montague, and the late James W. Montague, Sr.
He was a 1956 graduate of Pottstown High School, and a United States Navy Veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid. James was a long time employee of the Reading Railroad, and a retiree of Conrail, who after his retirement also worked for the Montgomery County Housing Authority, and as a school bus driver for both the Pottsgrove and Spring- Ford School Districts. He was a member of both the American Legion and the Elks, who enjoyed camping, traveling, spending time at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, collecting baseball caps and light houses, and also visiting light houses.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter; Cindy Montague Eisenhauer, of Harleysville, his son; Brian Montague, of Loxahatchee, Fl., his daughter; Kim Finkbiner, wife of John, of Douglassville, his grandchildren; David Eisenhauer, Shayne Eisenhauer, Zachary Finkbiner, Joshua Finkbiner, and Ashley Finkbiner, his sister; Bernadette McKinney, of Sinking Spring, and his twin sister; Jeanette Brennan, of Pottstown. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister; the late Barbara Custer.

James F. Knight, 76, of Pottstown, South Coventry Twp., husband of Marilyn (Bean) Knight, passed away suddenly on Friday.
Born in Fairmont, WV, he was the son of the late James Knight and Rose (Morgan) Knight Garner.
Jim graduated from WVU in 1959 with a BS in Chemistry and obtained graduate credits in polymer chemistry from Temple University. He retired from Occidental Chemical Corp as division manager of purchasing. He was a member of Cedarville United Methodist Church. Jim enjoyed photography, reading, hiking, traveling, and computers. He was a loving husband and devoted father.
Along with his wife of 44 years, he is survived by his daughters Carol Woodbrook, wife of Jon, of WA and Sandra Knight, wife of Andy Buck, of NY; brothers Robert and David Knight; grandson Atticus Buck; great granddaughter Chloe Woodbrook and step-grandchildren Rachel, Rosie, Crystal, and Angela Woodbrook. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his step-father Earl Garner.

James E. Hess, 63, of Gilbertsville, husband of Betty Lou (Reinhart) Hess, passed away on Friday at Fox Chase Cancer Center surrounded by his family.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Norman B. and Anna B. (Little) Hess.
Jim was an auditor with the Pennsylvania PUC and retired in February after 30 years of service. Jim received BS degrees from Albright College in both Accounting and Economics. Jim was a veteran of the Marine Corp, serving 6 years in the reserves. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boyertown, the Boyertown Orioles, the American Legion, and was a lifetime member of the Gilbertsville Fire Company. Jim enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay, traveling with his family, and skiing. He was an avid Flyers fan holding season tickets for 41 years.
Jim was a former American Legion baseball player, former baseball coach to the Boyertown Midget League and Jr. Legion Grizzles, and former ice hockey coach of the Pottstown Penguins, Valley Forge Colonials, and the Boyertown HS club team.
Surviving with his wife of 39 years is his son Jeffrey S. Hess, husband of Amy M., of Perkiomenville; daughter Jennifer L. Robinson, wife of Scott W., of Barto and granddaughter Alivia R. Hess. Also surviving is his faithful canine companion Murphy.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville with Rev. John G. Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:30PM to 8:30PM and on Wednesday from 9:30AM to 10:15AM at the funeral home.

Margaret A. Pupek, 71, of Douglassville, wife of Benjamin A. Pupek, Jr., passed away on Wednesday at her residence, surrounded by family.
Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Gephart) Stewart. Margaret and her husband Ben previously owned the Seven Stars Inn, located in Phoenixville, for twenty years.
Margaret is survived by her husband Ben of 52 years; sons Benjamin A. III, James, Brian, and Scott; brother Daniel Stewart; sister Jane Kirkner, fourteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brother George Stewart and sisters Faye Buchter and Alberta Schnovel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11:00AM at St. Philip Neri RC Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, with Fr. Robert A Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30AM to 10:45AM at the church.

He is survived by his wife, sons Louis J. Jr. and John V. Pellechia (Susan), grandchildren Nicholas, Elizabeth, Zachary and John Jr.; and brothers Bernard, Philip, Benny and Joseph. Predeceased by sisters Rose, Katie, Carmela, and Annie.

Wesley “Mark” Bell, 65, husband of 33 years to Nancy L. (Balser) Bell of Pottstown, passed away suddenly on Saturday at his residence. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Sarah (Jones) Bell, and the late John Bell.
He attended Pottstown High School, and was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. Wesley had been employed for 34 years by the Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company, and he was also a life member of the Pottstown Quoit Club, and the Pottstown German Club. He really enjoyed going to baseball games with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter; Tina L. Fry, of Pottstown, his sons; Michael W. Via, husband of Erica, of Pottstown, and Wesley Mark Bell, of Pottstown, his grandchildren; Saige, Charles, Jr., Dalton, Christina, Dylan, Brayden, Connor, Madison, and Cowen, his brother; Larry Bell, of Pottstown, his sister; Olwen Mort, of Pottstown, and his former son-in-law; Charles Fry, Sr., of Pottstown.

Cornelius Thomas, 80, Dedicated Husband and Father

After a long illness Conn passed away peacefully at his home on May 29, 2011.He was born on September 3, 1930 in Taylor Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Lewis H. Thomas and May (Davis) Thomas.
Conn served 20 years in the United States Air force as a Navigator and Weapons Officer, retiring as a Major. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart. In 1965 he received a Master Degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University. After retiring from the service, Conn worked as Computer Analyst.
Conn is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Aina (Krumins) Thomas,four children Barbara A. Thomas, Robert J. Thomas, Susan Linda Greenbaum and Patricia L. Thomas, eight grand children, Ayna, Alice, Joaquin, Benjamin,Joshua, Jennifer, Dylan and Alida, and one great-grandson Rodrigo. He is predeceased by his brothers William, David, and Lewis.

Cora E. (Hartline) Reazor, 86, of Pottstown, wife of Richard H. Reazor, passed away on Sunday at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Monocacy on Sept. 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Quinter) Hartline.
Cora was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pottstown for over 50 years. She taught Sunday School and Catechism and was a member on various committees. Cora was a very intelligent and artistic woman and was a wonderful mother. She loved spending time with her family, and was a wonderful wife, friend and love of Rich’s life. She meant everything to him, her family, and had a special bond with her grandchildren.
Surviving with her husband of 60 years are her daughters Teri, wife of Donald Bryan of Birdsboro and Kim, wife of Chris Craig of Gilbertsville; grandchildren Jeremy, Melanie, Kyle and Chad and great grandson Elijah. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Mary.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 660 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown with Rev. Paul Xander officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00AM to 10:45AM at the church.

Sylva D. (Daub) Peroni, 80, wife of 59 years to Peter A. Peroni of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center due to complications caused by leukemia. Born in Linfield, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Mabel E. (Hutt) Daub, and the late Harry S. Daub.
She was a 1948 graduate of Pottstown High School, and also a 1951 graduate of the Pottstown Hospital School of Nursing. In addition to being a homemaker, Sylva was also a very dedicated Registered Nurse for many years caring for patients in their homes, at military hospitals and state hospitals, and special needs children. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family, and she will be sorely missed by her entire family. Sylva will always be remembered as a loving, kind, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her daughters; Cynthia Scherer, wife of Douglas, and Laurie Sell, wife of James, both of South Coventry Township, her son; Christopher Peroni, of Honesdale, her grandchildren; Natalie Dobry, wife of Jason, Mason Scherer, Mitchell Scherer, Cole Sell, and Madeline Sell, her great-grandchildren; Nolan and Contessa Dobry, her sister; Jane Reichman, of Boyertown, and her brother; Neal Daub, of South Coventry Township.

Paul E. Bankes, Sr., 89, of Spring City, husband of the late Mae E. (Shuman) Bankes, passed away on Thursday at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. Born in Beaver Valley, Pa., he was a son of the late Ella (Gotshall) Bankes, and the late Henry Bankes.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and a former long time employee of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family.

Emma M. (Pace) Colasanti, 93, of Stowe, wife of the late Nicholas L. Colasanti, passed away on Sunday at her home. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Agnes (Ines) Pace, and the late Antonio Pace.
In addition to being a homemaker, she had also been self-employed for many years as a seamstress. Emma was a longtime member of Saint Gabriel R.C. Church in Stowe, where she was very active in many of the church functions, and she was a former president of the Saint Gabriel R.C. Church Women’s Society, and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was very devoted and faithful to the Blessed Mother, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and music.
Emma is survived by her sons; James N. Colasanti, husband of Lori, of Collegeville, Nicholas L. Colasanti, Jr., of Pottstown, John E. Colasanti, of Stowe, her daughter; Donna L. Gresko, wife of David, of Douglassville, her grandchildren; Ryan Colasanti, Angela Colasanti, Andrew Colasanti, Christopher Colasanti, Marie Colasanti, Julie Colasanti, her great-grandchildren; QingYang Irwin, Lauren Colasanti, her sister; Lena Huffman, of Pottstown, her brothers; James Pace, of Stowe, and Phillip Pace, of Pottstown. Suzanne F. (Fite) Santoro, 64, of Pottstown, long time companion of Richard A. Franklin, passed away on Thursday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Joan (Boxman) Fite, and the late Robert D. Fite.
She was a 1966 graduate of Haverford High School, and a very dedicated school bus driver for 37 years who loved what she did. Suzanne was also a long time member of A.A., and she felt very blessed to have many loving family members and friends. She asked that her life be celebrated with no sadness, and she sends her love to everyone she ever knew.
Suzanne is also survived by her sons; Mario R. Santoro and Robert S. Santoro, Jr., her grandchildren; David Santoro, Blessing Santoro, Dominic Santoro, and Nathan Santoro, her brother; Robert Douglas Fite, her devoted friends; Debbie Powell, Karajean Baldwin, Cheryl Summerfelt, Susan R. Grace (Creswell) Secord, 101, of North Coventry, wife of the late Wallace H. Secord, passed away on Wednesday May 25 at her residence. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late H. Clifford and Edna ( Longsdorf)Creswell.
Grace was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pottstown and the Order of the Eastern Star Schuylkill Chapter #338. She enjoyed sewing, and needle point, and was especially talented at crafting Ukrainian Pysanka eggs.
Surviving are grandchildren Todd Roup, Brian Varhelyi, David and Dean Secord, Stephanie Ruffing, and Thomas Mattingly; great grandchildren Caitlin Mattingly, Megan Ruffing, and Zachary and Joshua Secord; and son in law Matt Mattingly. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her children Yvette S. Roup, David S. Secord and Gail S. Mattingly; and her siblings J. Max, Marie, Lois, Saylor, and R. Newman Creswell, Janet Missimer, Jeanne Zukoski and Doris Feroe.

Kyle was a 10th grader at Spring Ford High School in Royersford and formerly attended Daniel Boone High School in Birdsboro.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his siblings Brittany Kulp, Austin and Isabella Latsko and Ryan, Kelsey and Kyle Brennan; step-father Christopher Latsko; step-mother Janice Kulp; maternal grandfather Jack Patton and paternal grandparents Dennis and Donna Kulp. Lowell F. Moyer, 71, of Gilbertsville, husband of Patricia B. (Borneman) Moyer, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Hatfield, he was the son of the late Franklin M. and Cora (Fretz) Moyer.
Lowell was a 1957 Graduate of North Penn High School, attended Juniata and Ursinus Universities and served 2 years in the Brethren Volunteer Service. He was a Member, Sunday school teacher and Deacon at Providence Church of the Brethren in Royersford. Lowell was also a Member of Ocean Grove and United Schwenkfelder Choirs, as well as various other Church of the Brethren choirs in the area.
Surviving with his wife of 47 years is his son Matthew Moyer, wife Susan; daughters, Crista Nimmerichter, husband Chip, and Jill Moyer, husband John Bachetti; adult grandson Joshua Moyer, Sr, wife Emily; grandsons Coyote, and Cayden; great grandsons Bryce, and Joshua, Jr. ; sister, Ruth West, husband Lowell, and Brother, Phillip Moyer, wife Laurel. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, the late Kian Moyer.

Ashleyjoy Thiemann, 41, of Pottstown, passed away on Thursday at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of Joyce A. Alexander, of Pottstown, and Billy L. Thiemann, of Pottstown.
She was a 1988 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, and she also attended Arizona State University, where she majored in Fine Arts. Ashley was a talented artist who loved to paint and make jewelry. She was also an animal lover who rescued two pit bulls from a shelter during her lifetime.
In addition to her parents she is also survived by her sisters; Janda S. Solazzo, wife of Michael, of Gilbertsville, and Shannon L. Thiemann-Mierzejewski, of Pottstown, her nieces; Megan and Lauren Solazzo, her nephews; Robert Wright, Brandon Boldaz, and Noah Thiemann, and her beloved pit bull; Lucky Moo.

Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Silas J. and Mabel E. (Kauffman) Stahl.
Sara Jane was a 1944 graduate of Pottstown High School and a graduate of the former Philadelphia Textile University where she studied millinery. She was co-owner of Wind Haven Mobile Home Estates in Sanatoga. Sara Jane was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Limerick and a past member of soroptimist.
Surviving is her son Robert W. Fisher Jr, husband of Kathleen F., of Sanatoga; daughter Wendi S., wife of Ron L. Albitz, of Sanatoga; grandchildren Robert W. Fisher III, Steve S. Fisher, Jessica Ramirez, Grant B. Albitz and Brock R. Albitz; and great grandchildren Liam, Reese, Sara, and Sadie Fisher with a 5th grandchild expected soon.

Joseph J. Tallon Jr., 71, of Barto, husband of Jackie A. (Hudy) Tallon, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Sr. and Mary (Kovach) Tallon.
Joseph was a member of the Roofers Union Local #30. He enjoyed gardening, raised horses and loved going to Cape May. Most important to him was his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.
Surviving with his wife of 17 years is his son Patrick M. Tallon, husband of Sharon; daughter Darlene A. Brown, wife of Richard, and Vicki L. Royer, wife of Ben; sister Mary Ellen Duncan and grandchildren Haille and Nicole Tallon, Richard Brown, and Collin and Nick Royer. He will also be sadly missed by his loving and loyal bulldog Vegas. Along with his parents he is predeceased by his brother Charlie Kovach and his sister Ann Marie Vargo.

Joseph Fuga, 91, of Pottstown, husband of Mary P. (Sroka) Fuga, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Fedor and Tekla (Masluch) Fuga.
Joseph was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Church in Limerick , a retired member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Bally Council in Stowe and a WWII Navy veteran. He worked for Firestone Tire Company in Pottstown for 30 years. Joseph enjoyed local high school sports, particularly watching his grandchildren play as they grew up.
Surviving with his wife of 63 years is son Donald J. Fuga, husband of Sandra, of Limerick; daughter Carol A. Budnick, wife of Jack, of Gilbertsville; sisters Sophia Ferenz of Stowe, Helen Philipanics of Royersford; and grandchildren Andrew J. and Brian J. Fuga and Brent A. and Stephen J. Budnick. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Stanley, John and Stephen Fuga and sisters Rose Szymanski and Mary Shepsko.

Robert F. Jacquot, 79, of Limerick, companion of Alice Curran, and husband of the late Frances (Drapikowski) Jacquot, passed away on Tuesday at Sanatoga Center.
Born in West Conshohocken, he was the son of the late John and Ethel (Ferrier) Jacquot.
Robert loved to fish and dance. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and going to the casinos.
Surviving along with his companion of 23 years are his daughters Donna Pearson, Kathy Lipscomb and Michele McCoppin; his sisters Ethel Mae Pryor and Jacqueline Phipps; grandchildren Frances Harris and Kenneth Harris Jr., Jerry Lipscomb Jr., Nicole Jacquot, Melissa and Jacob McCoppin and Christina DeCaro; and great grandson David Andrews. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a sister and 3 brothers.

John was an Operation Desert Shield War Navy veteran serving for 11 years.

Timothy Eddinger, 46, husband of 23 years to Mollie Ann (Kitchen) Eddinger of Boyertown, passed away on Saturday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Alfie (Brendlinger) Wade of Boca Raton, Fl., and the late C. Robert Eddinger.
He was a 1982 graduate of Boyertown High School, and was self-employed as the owner of Time Restorations automotive interior repair of Boyertown. Tim had a great passion for soccer, and he coached youth soccer in the Boyertown area. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and all racing, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his children.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is also survived by his children; Joshua T. Eddinger and Samantha L. Eddinger, and his brother; Jeff Eddinger, of Boca Raton, Fl.

Helen E. (Kijek ) Hanley, 86 , wife of 65 years to John “Jack” Hanley of Lower Pottsgrove Township, passed away on Friday at Sanatoga Center. Born in Shamokin, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Alma (Wronowski) Kijek and the late Anthony Kijek.
She was a 1942 graduate of Coal Township High school, and in addition to being a homemaker, she had also worked at her brother’s oil business, Reed’s Fuel Oil Company in Stowe. Helen was a parishioner of Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church of Pottstown, and a member of the Saint Aloysius Senior Group, where she had been a past secretary. She always loved playing pinochle and other card games, bowling, and bingo.
In addition to her husband, Helen is also survived by her daughter; Mary Anne Hanley, of Lower Pottsgrove Township, her sons; James F. Hanley, husband of Bridget M., of Elverson, Pa., Dennis J. Hanley, husband of Yundi, of Salem, W.V., Kevin T. Hanley, of New Egypt, N.J., her grandchildren; Jamie Hanley, Karl Hanley, Timothy Hanley, her great-grandchildren; Summer Hanley, Karl Timothy Hanley, and her step-great-granddaughter; Brittany Wagner. Along with her parents, Helen was also preceded in death by her sister; the late Eleanor Venesky, and two brothers; Peter Kijek, and Stanley Kijek.

Patricia A. (Bateman) Kopystecki, 77, of Gilbertsville, wife of the late Anthony T. Kopystecki, passed away on Friday at her residence. Born in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Kathryn (Finnegan) Bateman, and the late William J. Bateman.
In addition to being a homemaker, she had been previously employed as a former day manager of the Limerick Bowl bowling alley, and also as a waitress at the Lakeside Inn. She enjoyed floral designing and working with flowers, bowling, and spending time with her family.
Patricia is survived by her daughters; Shiryl L. Kuterbach, wife of Michael L., of Royersford, Andrea M. Halteman, wife of Scott K., of Gilbertsville, her sons; Glenn A. Kopystecki, of Phoenixville, Kenneth T. John R. Sassaman, 55, husband of Marybeth (Taylor) Sassaman of Gilbertsville, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Hazelton, he was a son of the late Marion (Boyle) Sassaman, and the late James Sassaman.
He was a 1975 graduate of Pottstown High School. John had been formerly employed as a machinist for 14 years at Doehler-Jarvis before their plant closed in 2001, and he was currently employed as a sales associate at the Walmart in Bechtelsville. He was a huge University of Notre Dame fan and enthusiast, and he really enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter; Megan Geise, wife of Brian, of Gilbertsville, his granddaughters; Shannon and Delaney Geise, both of Gilbertsville, his brother; James Sassaman, husband of Diane, of Conshohocken, his former sister-in-law; Dana Sassaman, of Exeter, and his nephews; Len Sassaman, of Belgium, and Calvin Sassaman, of Boyertown. Along with his parents, John was also preceded in death by his brother; the late Francis Sassaman.

Richard E. Barron II, 47, of Phoenixville
|
Richard “Rick” Barron, 47, of Phoenixville, entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2011 at home surrounded by his family and close friends after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer. He was the husband of Sandra McKillip Barron for 21 years.
Born in Coatesville, PA, Rick was the son of the late Richard E. and Patricia A. Barron. He was a 1982 graduate of Octorara Area High School and received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Penn State University in 1986. Rick worked in the IT consulting field for 25 years, providing technology services to many Fortune 500 companies. While working at Andersen Consulting, SystemsLink, Ajilon Consulting, and most recently AETEA Information Technology, Rick was regarded as an inspirational manager and coach to his teams and was a well-respected leader among his colleagues. He formed lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers.
Rick will be lovingly missed by everyone who knew him, but especially by his wife, Sandi, and his three children, Elli, Rachel and Tre, all living at home. Rick’s love for his family was undeniable. Trips to the Outer Banks, Penn State tailgates and Holiday gatherings were his favorite family moments. Rick is also survived by two younger brothers, Mark W. Barron, husband of Vickie, of Millersville, PA and Shawn M. Barron of Lancaster, PA, and six nieces and nephews.
With the support of his family, Rick renewed his faith in God and became an active member of Royersford United Methodist Church where he often gave the children’s sermon. Rick placed his trust in the Lord when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Never one to dwell on negative thoughts, Rick fought his illness with strength and determination and never lost hope.
Rick had a wide circle of close friends and neighbors with whom he enjoyed playing golf, traveling, entertaining at home, and attending sporting events. Many of Rick’s friendships spanned decades, while others were new-found friends from church, work and the golf club. These bonds of friendship were stronger than ever as he faced his biggest challenge, as evidenced by the never-ending stream of visitors and greeting cards during his illness.
A Christian funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Royersford United Methodist Church, 380 Church Street, Royersford, PA at 10:30am. Rick’s family will greet friends at the Church from 9am until 10:15am. Interment will take place at Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, immediately following the service. Anna (Kuszyk) Kusniez, 87, wife of the late Joseph F. Kusniez, of Pottstown, passed away on Monday at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Valeria (Roman) Kuszyk, and the late Peter Kuszyk.
She was a homemaker, and a former member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Pottstown. Anna enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, flowers, and spending time with her family.
Anna is survived by her son; Joseph E. Kusniez, husband of Doris, of Gilbertsville, three grandchildren; Jeffrey Kusniez, Timothy Kusniez, and Elizabeth Kusniez, her sister; Mary Kaas, of Pottstown, and her brother; Paul Kuszyk, of Boyertown. Helen M. (Sassaman) Reigner, 95, formerly of Boyertown, wife of the late Melvin Reigner, and long time companion of the late Henry Stofflet, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011, at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown. Born in New Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Flora (Richards) Sassaman, and the late Frederick Sassaman.
She had been employed for many years as a cafeteria cashier at Boyertown Senior High School, and also as a waitress at the Orioles and Kolb’s Grill in Boyertown. Helen was also an avid bingo player.
Helen is survived by her daughters; Janet Kehl, of Bechtelsville, June Erb, of Boyertown, and Sherry Dries, of Boyertown, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, the late Kenneth Reigner.

He had been employed for many years at Techalloy Manufacturing Company and the Brookside Country Club prior to his retirement. Jerry was also a Skate Guard for many years at the Ringing Rocks Roller Rink, and in his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his children; Linda Showers, Lesa Sheaffer, Jerry Reitmeyer, Jr., Michele Neiman, Michael Reitmeyer, Kimberly Resh, and Amy Nagle. He is also survived by his sister; Nancy Trego, 22 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Susan K. (Stengel) Miller, 57, of Boyertown, wife of Jere Miller, passed away on Saturday at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of John and Verna (Kehl) Stengel.
Susan enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time with Jere. She was a loving wife, mother and daughter and will be sadly missed by all.
Surviving along with her husband of 36 years and parents is her son Jason Miller; sister Audrey Fronheiser, wife of David, and nieces Allison, Meredith, and Jackie Fronheiser.

Ronald Lee Williams, 71, of Pottstown, passed away on Sunday at Manor Care in Pottstown.
Born in Albany, CA, and formerly of Eugene, Oregon, he was the son of the late William S. and Clara May (Danford) Williams.
Surviving is his brother Robert Williams, husband of Virginia, of Sun City, CA; daughters Denise Bruno, wife of Edward, of Pottstown and Dori Keran, wife of Bill, of Arvada, CO; and grandchildren Sabrina Lee Bell of Hatfield and Stephanie Rae Bell of San Diego, CA. Also surviving are his former wives Gloria (Losasso) Williams and Gail (Herron) Williams and sister in law Patricia Williams of Denver, CO. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Richard and Glenn Williams.
Ron was a talented musician having played piano with his Big Band orchestra. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, fishing and cars. He was also a former DeMolay with the Methodist Church.

Peggy A. (Erb) Weand, 77, of Gilbertsville, wife of William R. Weand Jr., passed away on Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Birdsboro, she was the daughter of the late Richard J. Sr. and Myrtle (McCormick) Erb.
Peg was an active member at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oley where she was part of the worship and music committee and was in charge of the acolytes. She was also a former Sunday school teacher and choir member. Peggy enjoyed going to the mountains in Cameron County, PA with Bill where they would stay and relax. Peg was also a member of the Boyertown Senior Center.
Surviving with her husband of 57 years are her sons Gregory R. Weand of Pottstown and Steven J. Weand, husband of Lori, of New Ringgold and her brother Robert Erb, husband of Eleanor, of Boyertown. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Richard J. Erb Jr.

Morris H. Berger, 91, of Boyertown

Morris H. Berger, 91, husband of the late Marie C. (Dierolf) Berger of Boyertown, passed away on Saturday at Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospice in Allentown. Born in Coaldale, Pa., he was a son of the late Anna (Flannery) Berger, and the late William Berger.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, and had been employed by the Stanley G. Flagg Company for over 40 years prior to his retirement. Morris had also been a long time volunteer of the Salvation Army, and the Boyertown Area Multi-Service.
Morris is survived by his sister; Kathryn Coulton, of North Wales, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 AM with Reverend John G. Pearson officiating, at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, Pa., 19525. Burial will follow at Hill Church Cemetery in Boyertown. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:30-10:15 AM at the Funeral Home.

Burton W. Smith, Sr., 94, formerly of Pottstown

Burton W. Smith, Sr., 94, husband of 70 years to Blodwyn D. (Williams) Smith, formerly of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Manor Care Sinking Spring. Born in Drums, Pa., he was a son of the late Adeline (Drasher) Smith, and the late Charles G. Smith.
He had been employed for many years as a tool room foreman for the U.S. Axle Company of Pottstown before his retirement in the late 1970’s. Burton was an avid golfer who won many awards. He loved spending time in his vegetable garden. After he retired, he greatly enjoyed being a vendor at many local flea markets. He was a man of great faith who was a former member of Colebrookdale Chapel and New Life Bible Fellowship Churches.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children; Phyllis Patukas, wife of Peter, of Coatesville, Burton W. Smith, Jr., of Boyertown, Marilyn Fiorini, wife of Larry, of Birdsboro, Mark Smith, husband of Beverly, of Barto, 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren and his brother; Howard E. Smith, of Drums, Pa. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday morning, April 14, 2011, at 11:30 AM, with Pastor Raymond Leslie officiating, at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, Pa., 19525. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Pottstown. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 10:30-11:15 AM at the Funeral Home.

Theresa D. Herner, 69, of Phoenixville

Theresa D. (Quinn) Herner, 69, wife of 49 years to David A. Herner of Phoenixville, passed away on Saturday at Parkhouse Providence Pointe in Royersford. Born in Pottstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Pearl (Moyer) Quinn and the late James Quinn.
She was a 1959 graduate of St. Pius High School, and she had been employed for many years in the housekeeping department at Pennhurst State Hospital and Norristown State Hospital. Theresa really enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children; David L. Herner, of North Coventry, Joseph Herner, husband of Sandra, of Phoenixville, Brenda Vickers, wife of David, of Phoenixville, and her grandchildren; Matthew Herner, Jena Herner, and Braydon Vickers. She was also preceded in death by her brother; the late James Quinn, Jr.

Barbara A. Littlewood, 74, of Warrington

Barbara A. (Kelly) Littlewood, 74, of Warrington, Pa., wife of the late John Thompson Littlewood, III, of Pottstown, passed away of natural causes on April 8, 2011, at her daughter’s residence in Exeter, Pa., with her family by her side. She was born on March 20, 1937, in Troy, New York, a daughter of John C. Kelly, of Lansdale, Pa., and the late Marian A. (Hansen) Kelly.
She had been employed for over 20 years at the Mrs. Smith’s Frozen Foods Company of Pottstown prior to her retirement in 1996. Barbara was a devout member of St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church in Warrington, and very active in her community. She was an avid golfer, and a member of the Fairway Ladies Golf League. She loved all sports and traveling. Barbara was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who really enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially their yearly trips to Stone Harbor. Even though she will be greatly missed and remembered in our hearts forever, we rejoice for her on the reunion of her and her beloved husband, whom she has been waiting to see for 14 long years.
In addition to her father, she is also survived by her children; Kim M. Farnsworth-O’Neill, wife of Larry, of Chester Springs, Karen A. Acosta, wife of Michael, of Exeter, Kathleen T. Freno, partner of Rachel Schilder, of Mullica Hill, N.J., Kevin G. Granger, of Cocoa Beach, Fl., 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by her siblings; John T. Kelly, of Maine, Kay Glasheen, of North Carolina, Thomas Kelly, of Colorado, her brothers-in-law; Donald G. Littlewood, of Berwyn, Richard B. Littlewood, of Bryn Mawr, her step-sons; Jeffery T. Littlewood and Richard S. Littlewood, both of Italy, and many other loving relatives and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine R.C. Church, 856 Euclid Avenue, Warrington, Pa., 18976. Grace (Brauss) Bause, 78, of Schwenksville, formerly of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 1 at Manor Care in Pottstown.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Norman Y. and Rose A. (Frey) Brauss.
She is survived by her son Eric G. Bause and her sister Helen Westervelt.

Blanche Ella (Reese) Babiash, 71, of Royersford, wife of William Edward Babiash, passed away on Thursday, March 31 at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.
Born in Darby, and formerly of Malvern and Chadds Ford, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Elizabeth (McNamara) Reese.
Blanche was a 1957 graduate of the Notre Dame Academy in Villanova. In 1959 she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. She attended Sacred Heart RC Church in Royersford. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Along with her husband of 50 years, she is survived by her children Laura Polischuk, Bill Babiash Jr., Lisa Roldan, Rick Babiash and Tammy Duke; her sisters Elizabeth Hebeler and Mary Hardican, her brother William Reese and her 12 beloved grandchildren Larissa, Andrea, Elena, Anthony, Chris, Ryan, Maya, Evan, Brandon, Matthew, Ashley, and Zoe.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10:00AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 838 Walnut Street, Royersford with Fr. Peter DiMaria officiating. Burial will be private and at a later date. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:15AM to 9:45AM at the church.

Phillip A. Young, 68, of Linfield

Phillip A. Young, 68, of Linfield, husband of Linda M. (Jordan) Young, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 30.
Born in Boston, MA he was the son of the late Clifford C. and Evelyn N. (Swift) Young.
Phillip was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved going camping.
Phillip was a member of the Coudersport VFW and the Phoenixville Moose Lodge #1273. He enjoyed watching all types of sports but loved to cheer on Penn State and watch NASCAR.
Along with his wife of 43 years, Phillip is survived by his son Phillip A. Young II, husband of Pam and his daughter Karla G. Trawitz, wife of Michael; his brothers Greg and Walter Young and sister Gail Witter. He is also survived by his grandchildren Autumn, Aaron, Hailey and Ella. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 8th, 2:00PM at the Royersford VFW, 730 S. 4th Street, Royersford.
