He was an avid Blues aficionado and rang in the New Year with a video of himself playing piano every year. He kept in close contact with relatives in the Ukraine, visiting them on several occasions and helping to bring them for visits to the United States. He was a devoted father, a generous grandfather, and he was loved by all.

Add My Condolences

Dick and Betty Gene Porotsky send deepest sympathy to the Roman Zaharchuk Family at this most difficult time.
Roman and I became friends at Wolf Grade School in Northampton in the 1940's. Our friendship grew over the years via our telephone conversations, even after I moved to Cincinnati in 1963. I will sadly miss his lifelong friendship.
