Madeleine “Penny” Frances Curley, 86

Madeleine “Penny” Frances (Scannell) Curley, 86, wife of the late Richard T. “Dick” Curley, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Arista Care in Plymouth Meeting.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Francis I. Scannell and Rita D. (Smith) Scannell.

Penny was a member of St. Columbkill LAOH and a longstanding member of the “Couples Club”.

Surviving are her sons Richard “Tim” Curley, husband of Teresa; Mark Curley, husband of Denise; Terence Curley, husband of Mary; Sean Curley, husband of Lisa; Brian Curley, husband of Veronica; and Brendan Curley, husband of Cara; grandchildren Shannon, Alicia, Patrick, Brigid, Colin, Katie, Megan, Ryan, Patricia, Matthew, Adam, Paige, Maddy, Aidan, and Claire; great grandchildren Grace, Fiona, Talulah, Rainer, and Molly; and many friends and family. She is survived by her sister-in-law Dolores Hobbs and predeceased by her sister Rita Linda Myrtetus.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Columbkill Church (200 Indian Spring Rd., Boyertown, PA 19512) with Fr. Marty Kern officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A viewing will also be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00-11:00AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Columbkill Church in Penny’s name.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mother's passing. Long ago we were neighbors on Maple Ave.

I am so sorry for the profound loss of your dearest mother. I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of the many Hibernian events over the years. She was just lovely and happy to see a young Division of LAOH start in Montgomery County. May God speed her to Paradise and comfort all of you with the many loving memories of times shared with Penny.
