Samuel D. Dickinson, 78

Samuel D. Dickinson, 78, of Pottstown, husband of the late Carol E. (Hallman) Dickinson, passed away Monday April 15, 2024 at Southeastern Veteran’s Center, Spring City.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late C. Clifford and Alma (Seabolt) Dickinson.

Samuel served in the Army National Guard after graduating from Owen J. Roberts High School. He was a former member of Norco Fire Company. Sam worked 18 years at First Energy Corp. in Reading. He was a former member of Exeter Bible Church and attended Berean Bible Church.

Though wrestling with MS for decades, Sam never lost his dry sense of humor offering “dad jokes” any and all the time. His penchant for ice cream was legendary (though never strawberry) second only to his love for his family. Sam was dearly loved and will surely be missed, but the family is comforted in knowing he is walking or “just chilling” with his beautiful bride once again.

Surviving are his children Melissa Lewis wife of Brent, Bradley Dickinson husband of Nicole, Jason Dickinson husband of Christine, and Adam Dickinson husband of Phillip Edwards; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother Charles Dickinson husband of Michelle; and sister Sherri Peterka wife of Gerard.

Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister Donna E. Dickinson.

Memorial service for both Carol and Sam will be held on July 27th at 11am at Berean Bible Church, Pottstown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Samuel’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society at https://secure.nationalmssociety.org

Add My Condolences

So very sorry. My deepest sympathy to his family. Sam lived down the street from me on Cedarville Road. He was a quiet, good soul. May he rest in peace in heaven.
