Aden R. “Smokey” Meyers, 71, husband of Diane (Zern) Meyers, of New Berlinville, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Aden and Florence (Kiess) Meyers.

Aden was a 1957 graduate of Allentown High School, a US Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Pawcatuck, an electrician with IBEW Local #375 and a member of Greenleaf Lodge 0561 F & A.M. of Pennsylvania. He loved to travel in his motor home with his wife and was an avid street rod and antique car builder. Aden was also captain of his own charter fishing boat in Delaware where he enjoyed deep sea and sport fishing.

Surviving along with his wife of 19 years are his sons Richard Meyers, husband of Denise, and James Meyers, husband of Laurie, both of Bethlehem; daughter Donna Whitehead of Center Valley and Linda Hummel of Waterford, MI, step sons Thomas Wade, husband of Danielle, of Barto and David Wade of New Berlinville; brother Richard Meyers of Allentown; sisters Pauline Derby of Emmaus, Joan Goldman of Allentown and Catherine McCulloch of Catasauqua; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Dorothy Sayre.

Services and interment are private.
