Anthony R. Brasacchio, the son of Italian immigrants who became a pharmacist, hospital administrator, then an attorney, died Thursday, November 29, at his home in Pottstown. He was 85.
He was married for 42 years to Joan (Seidel) Brasacchio and worked as Senior Vice President and COO of the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center from 1973 to 1988. He was very active in the community serving as past President of TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Pottstown Senior Center, Board Member of Creative Health, The Lower Pottsgrove Twp. Commissioners, past Board President of the VNA of Pottstown and Board Representative of the Pottstown Family YMCA. He was also the founding President of the Pottstown Chapter of the American Cancer Society and Past President of the Pottstown Rotary Club. Tony was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pottstown.

Born in Carnegie, PA, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Maria (Proto) Brasacchio. He attended Duquesne University, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy in 1955. He joined the Army in 1958, and served as a Staff Pharmacist until 1960. He moved to Philadelphia in 1964 to become the Chief Pharmacist at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He earned his M.B.A. from Drexel University in 1970 and received a law degree from Temple University in 1984. He became a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Association.

Besides his wife, Brasachio is survived by: sons Thomas Brasacchio, husband of Jill; and Robert Brasacchio; sister Rosemary Feruzza, wife of Joe; step-children Teb Feroe, husband of Lynda; Tracy Feroe Schlocker, wife of David; Tara Feroe Pelet, wife of Philippe; Tim Feroe, husband of Jeannette; and Tricia Feroe Weller, wife of David; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a son Christopher, a daughter Susan, and a sister Lucy Robson.

A memorial service will be Monday, Dec. 17, 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church, 750 N. Evans Street, Pottstown. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 17 from 9:00am to 10:45am at the church.
