Carl T. Davis, Jr., 76, husband of 53 years to Esther J. (Cook) Davis of Amityville, passed away on Sunday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Eva (Kemble) Wentzel and the late Carl T. Davis, Sr.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and served his country proudly aboard the USS Yorktown. Carl was a former employee of the Firestone Company of Pottstown for 25 years, and later on worked for PJM Interconnection LLC of Norristown for many years prior to his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Frontier Archery Club. He was also a member of the Stichter Masonic Lodge #254 of Pottstown and the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Consistry of Reading, and a member of the Amity Fire Company. Carl was also a long time member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Amityville. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and going to the Pocono Mountains.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his daughter; Karen L. Grebowsky, wife of David of Chester, MD., his siblings; Betty Klick, wife of George of Douglassville, John Davis, husband of JoAnne of Birdsboro, his grandchildren; Jessica, Justin, Joshua, Lisa, and his beloved dogs; Belle and Dasher. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son; the late Brian L. Davis, husband of Joan, and his brother, the late James K. Davis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, Pa., 19464, and to his Visitation on Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 9:30-10:15 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
