Carl W. Schaeffer, Sr., 88, husband of the late Anna M. (Moser) Schaeffer, of Boyertown, passed away on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown. Born in Fleetwood, Pa., he was a son of the late Edna (Stahler) Schaeffer, and the late Edwin Schaeffer.

He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and prior to his retirement in 1985, he had been a long time employee of the former Eastern Foundry Company of Boyertown. Carl had also been involved with both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was also a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Bechtelsville, and a member of the Pikeville Sportsmans Association.

Carl is survived by his daughter; Robin E. Bearn, wife of Larry, of Pennsburg, his sons; Carl W. Schaeffer, Jr., of Barto, Dennis L. Schaeffer, of Boyertown, his four granddaughters; Carlie Ann Bearn, Katie M. Bearn, Kellie M. Bearn, Cristie P. Bearn, and his siblings; Leah O’Neil, Earl Schaeffer, Edwin Schaeffer, Jr., and Donald Schaeffer. In addition to his wife and parents, Carl was also preceded in death by his three sisters and five brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday at 10:30 AM with Pastor Eugene Zaiser officiating, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1749 S. Main Street, Bechtelsville, Pa., 19505, and to his Visitation on Friday morning from 9:30-10:15 AM at the church. Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery, Oley.
