Charles L “Roy” Herb, 87, husband of June (Burdan) Herb, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in Congo, Douglass Twp., he was the son of the late LeRoy R and Martha (Bean) Herb.

Roy served in the Army from 1951 to 1954, serving in Korea for 18 months. He previously worked for Herb Builders, Firestone Tire & Rubber, and retired from the Upper Perkiomen School District. He served as the Zoning Officer of Douglass Twp. from 1976 to 1985. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his fish pond and trips to Shady Maple. A dedicated family man, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life. An active Lutheran all his life, he has volunteered on church council, choir, and treasurer. A member of Christ Lutheran Church, he has been a member of the Property Ministry and cared for the flower gardens at the Church.

Surviving with his wife of 60 years are sons, Jeffrey Herb, husband of Angie, of Long Valley, NJ; Gregory Herb, husband of Kathy, of Gilbertsville, and Mark Herb of South Riding, VA; daughter, Rebecca Weiler, wife of David, of Reading; and sisters, Joan Brunner, wife of Stanley and Joyce widow of John Wood. Also surviving are grandchildren, Zachary Herb, Jacob Herb, husband of Jordan, Valerie Ashcroft, wife of Christopher, Andrew Herb husband of Kristen, and Ethan Weiler; step-grandchildren, Kyle Kolarz, husband of Leslie, Megan Stoup, wife of Aaron, Joseph Dungan, and Allison Barrett, wife of Drew; great-grandchildren Rae-Lynn, Beckett, and Brayden Herb, Blaire Ashcroft and step great-grandchild, Cole Stroup. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Kenneth L. Herb

A funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 17, 11:00AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Rd, Barto, PA 19504. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 16 from 6PM to 8PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville and Saturday from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the church.
