Dale J. Heimbach, 75, of Boyertown, husband of Lori L. (Mensch) Heimbach, passed away Saturday March 17, 2018 at his residence.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Mary D. (Dalton) Heimbach.
Dale was a member of Living Faith Lutheran Church in Boyertown where he shared his faith in the Lord in a daily online inspirational message. He was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he taught Catechetical class, adult Sunday school, and sang in the Church choir. He worked for the Boyertown Auto Body Works and was also Union steward. He then worked for Maier’s Bakery in route sales out of Reading, PA. He was a former VP of Teamsters Local 429 in Reading. Dale was also a former township supervisor for Douglass Twp. Berks County. In 2015, Dale was inducted into the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame for voting consecutively for the past 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the Train Collectors Assoc. enjoyed collecting trains and antiques, and most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife of 34 years is one son Nathan D. Heimbach of Boyertown; one daughter Sarah L. Keebler wife of Joshua of Exeter; two grandchildren Arden Elise Green and Gavin Porter Keebler of Exeter. A brother Henry Heimbach husband of June and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday March 22, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Burial will follow at Frieden’s Church Cemetery, Oley. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00-10:15 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s memory to Living Faith Lutheran Church, 1206 Montgomery Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512 or PO Box 605, Boyertown, PA 19512.
