Daniel D. Kranch, 77, of Pottstown, husband of Jane (Neiffer) Kranch, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 13.

Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Daniel E. and Mary (Roberts) Kranch.

Dan was a Korean era U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America. He worked for the former Bell Telephone Company, where he retired from management after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers Association.  He enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator, as well as his Radio Control model aircraft.

After retiring, he volunteered his time, to give back to the community, at the VNA of Pottstown and Manor Care Nursing home. Daniel attended Mountain View Chapel in Douglassville for many years.

Surviving with his wife of 50 plus years are children Danielle K. Wells, wife of Barry, of Fawn Grove, Pa. James D.  Kranch, husband of Michelle, of Pottstown and 1 additional son; sister Phyllis Hook of Pottstown; step granddaughter Shelby L. Poston of Pottstown; a sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, a sister and a brother in law.

A funeral service will be on Friday, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Pastor Christian Eshleman officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, with Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday from 3PM to 5PM and on Friday and from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the funeral home.
