Esther M. High, 97, of Schwenksville

Esther M. (Moyer) High, 97, of Schwenksville, wife of the late Donald F. High, passed away on Friday, February 4 at Greenfield Senior Living.

Born in Colebrookdale Township and raised in Boyertown, she was the daughter of the late Floyd R. and Mabel E. (Kleinsmith) Moyer.

Following graduation in 1942 from Boyertown High School, Esther worked at Spicer (later Dana) Corporation where she met her husband, and following that as an electronics assembler at Philco Corp. She continued to work in later jobs as a sewing machine operator and cafeteria worker at Pottstown Senior High School.

Esther was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Pottstown. There she was active with their women’s group, taught vacation bible school, served as a lay minister, and participated in bible study activities. Esther also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed crocheting and loved to play bingo. Her fondest memories were the times she spent at the family cabin in the Pocono Mountains.

Surviving are her son David High, husband of Rebecca; daughter Susan Biggerstaff; grandchildren Elizabeth Soderstrom, Lawrence Frick, Jr., husband of Janis; Todd Frick, Amanda High, and Marisa High; 3 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Sandra Frick, and son in law Karlton Biggerstaff.

A funeral service will be Friday, February 11, 1:00PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00PM to 12:45 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Esther’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601
