Deborah (Hatfield) D’Orsaneo, 62, of Media

Deborah (Hatfield) D’Orsaneo, 62, of Media, formerly of Elverson, loving wife of the late Nicholas R. D’Orsaneo, passed away on Friday, February 4th at home after a hard-fought battle with soft tissue Sarcoma.

Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of Nancy (Diehm) Hatfield and the late Arthur J. Hatfield. She graduated from Owen J. Roberts in the class of 1977 and surely left her mark.

Deborah loved her husband and her family. She constantly put others before herself and opened her home and heart to many throughout her years. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, crafting, and sewing. She had a smile that would light up a room and a warmth about her that made you feel like home. She moved about the world effortlessly offering her time and service without recognition. She drew her strength from the Lord and had a warrior spirit. It didn’t take long for Deb to leave her mark on you and may we all honor her in every walk of our lives. She left a strong legacy.

She is survived by her children Brad Iezzi, husband of Rebekah, Nicola Kraybill, wife of Conrad, Julian D’Orsaneo, husband of Rachel, Carly Koelle, Haley Young, wife of Colin, Dawn Morgan, wife of Sam, and Peter D’Orsaneo, husband of Corey Harris; brothers Gene Hatfield, husband of Jayne, and Jim Hatfield, husband of Gwen; and grandchildren Kyle and Karson, Elias, Norah, and Colette, Dominic and Declan, and Mack, Hannah, and Julia.

A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held on Saturday, February 12th at Hopewell Church, 2286 Hopewell Rd., Elverson, PA with the family receiving friends from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. The service will begin at 12:00PM following visitation. There will be coffee and pastries provided from 10-12 with no reception following the services.

I was watching a YouTube video entitled, Owen J. Roberts Gone but Not Forgotten, and saw Debbie's photo (class of '77) and almost fell off my chair.
I can remember as clearly as any memory I have, riding on the school bus with Debbie; I think that I was in seventh grade and Debbie was in eighth.
I hope that she would be okay with me saying that we were fond of each other.
It was the last day of school riding home on the bus and I could see that she was upset that we wouldn't be seeing each other over the summer. So, I asked her to sign my baseball glove, which she did.
I know longer have that glove but I still have the memory and I treasure it; we were so innocent.

Dear God, please take good care of Debbie and tell her that she will never be forgotten.
