Maureen Elizabeth (Dapra) Pichola, 85, wife of the late Robert James Pichola, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe.
Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Alverta (Witman) Dapra.
Maureen grew up in Shamokin where she learned impeccable baking, sewing, and home keeping skills from her mother; and made lifelong friendships with the Seventh Street Girls. Maureen married Bob Pichola on June 2, 1962 at St. Edward’s Church in Shamokin. They were a dynamic duo until his passing on April 7, 2019.
Maureen and Bob moved to North Coventry in 1965 and lived in their home, the site of countless celebrations with family and friends, for 53 years. Maureen was a quintessential homemaker; she enjoyed baking, preparing superb meals, browsing antique shops for treasures, and making her home beautiful for each season. The Christmas season was when Maureen was at her finest and most joyful. Her loved ones cherish memories of her warm spirit during holiday traditions as well as her exquisite hand knit Christmas stockings. Her happy place was at any beach anywhere, but especially at her home in Stone Harbor where she loved to read, search for seashells, and care for her family and friends. Williamsburg, VA and Clearwater, FL to watch the Phillies Spring Training were also two favorite vacation spots for Maureen and Bob.
Maureen absolutely adored her six grandchildren. “Mimi” delighted in preparing their favorite treats, cheering enthusiastically at every event, giving lots and lots of hugs, and making every moment special.
Maureen is survived by her son John Pichola, husband of Jennifer; daughter Jenifer Haines, wife of Dale; grandchildren Jason, Julia, Jake, Anthony, Matthew, and Camille; and brother Richard Dapra, husband of Cathy.
