Patricia Ann (Hutton) Ryan, 73

Patricia Ann (Hutton) Ryan, age 73, was born on March 8, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous, nearly year-long battle with Glioblastoma.

Patricia dedicated her life to her family and her community. She worked tirelessly in a variety of roles to support her loved ones, from housekeeping and selling Tupperware to serving as an administrative assistant for doctors and lawyers. Her unwavering work ethic and generous spirit touched everyone she met.

A devoted volunteer, Patricia generously gave her time to numerous organizations. Her passion for helping animals and children led her to volunteer with the Special Olympics, Sebastian Riding Associates, and Main Line Animal Rescue—where she once accidentally locked herself inside a kennel after hours with two pups, “Danica” and “Juan Pablo”.

An avid lover of musical theater, Patricia attended countless Broadway shows and shared her love of storytelling—often more entertaining than a comedian—with family and friends. She was the heart of every holiday, dressing in costume and celebrating her grandchildren’s birthdays with joy and creativity. Known as a second mother and grandmother to her children’s friends, she embraced every relationship with warmth and kindness.

Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Ryan, and brother Robert Hutton. She is survived by her five children: Thomas Ryan, Rosemary Ryan, Michele Scully, Brian Scully, and Danielle Ryan (Carrie Harrington). Her treasured grandchildren include Thomas Ryan (Ashley), Christopher Ryan, Hannah Ryan, Gavin Sonic Volper, Thea Harrington, and River Harrington, and great-grandchildren, Thomas Ryan, Mackenzie Ryan, Edward Ryan, and Jack Ryan. She is also survived by her brother, John Hutton, her beloved nieces and nephews, and her pampered pets, Gracie and Trooper.

Patricia’s love for God and her ability to see angels everywhere were guiding lights in her life. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to know her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave. Gilbertsville, PA 19525). A visitation will be held starting at 10:00AM prior to the service. Burial will be held privately by the family at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sebastian Riding Associates, which provides therapeutic equestrian programs for people with physical and mental challenges: www.sebastianriding.org

Add My Condolences

To all the family,

My sincere condolences at this difficult time. My regrets for being unable to attend tomorrow. I was fortunate to have Pat as my mother in law many years and her as a grandmother (memom) to Hannah. She adored her grand babies and kids almost as much as her animals :). Pat was a beautiful lady inside and out. She will be missed by many. Hugs and prayers to each of you.
