Frank James Reilly, a man whose life was marked by dedication, leadership, and a deep love for family and community, passed away on December 18 at the age of 85. Born in The Bronx, Frank carried the spirit of his New York roots throughout his remarkable journey.
A diligent student, with a quick wit and velvet singing voice, Frank excelled at Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. Straight out of high school, he embarked on a storied 40-year career at IBM, starting humbly as a mailroom clerk. Through unwavering hard work and sharp intellect, he rose through the ranks, ultimately achieving numerous senior management roles.
Beyond his work, Frank was a passionate fan of baseball, with an unyielding devotion to his New York Yankees. His enthusiasm for the sport extended to his community in Montvale, New Jersey, where he dedicated countless hours as a coach and mentor, shaping the lives of many young athletes.
He shared 26 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Shirley, who was his constant companion and best friend.
A dedicated father, Frank is survived by his four children from a previous marriage to Judith Reilly: Chris, Robert, James, and Jennifer. His joy was multiplied by his seven grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.
A private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Frank will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. (alz.org)
