Robert L. Fisher, 94

Robert Leonard Fisher, 94, of Douglassville, formerly of Birdsboro, husband of the late Mae Elizabeth (Haas) Fisher, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Spruce Manor in West Reading, PA. Upon relocating out of Douglassville, Robert moved to his final destination to the Keystone Villa at Douglassville. He settled into his new home and rapidly made friends with the other residents and the staff. He enjoyed all the activities he became involved in.                  

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late John Calvin and Orpha Ruth (Nyce) Fisher.

Robert graduated from Warwick High School in 1950. He proudly served in the US Army from 1950-1953 as a radio operator. He married his beloved wife on June 26, 1954.

Robert worked for Firestone Stores from 1956 to 1976 in sales and management. In 1976 he left Firestone and went to work for Bergey’s Tire Service, Boyertown, PA to manage their stores where he was also a successful tire salesman. Robert retired in 1993 and purchased a home in Rehoboth Beach, DE where he spent time going on trips to NJ, DE, and VA.

Robert was an active member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for over 60 years. He served on the planning committee for the new church of St. Paul’s for 5 years and 19 years on the church council. Robert served as a Cub Scout leader for 9 years. He also coached little league football and basketball in Amityville for several years, as well.

Robert was an active member of the Boyertown YMCA, making many friendships until the time of his passing. Among many of his other interests include boating trips with his love of fishing, sports, girls basketball, NASCAR, casinos, theatre, building model boats and spending quality time with his beloved friends and family.

He was the proud father to his three surviving children: daughter Michele Ruth Fisher fiancée of Shawn Sutler; sons Richard Leonard Fisher husband of Karen and Kevin Robert Fisher husband of Robert Edinger; grandchildren Heather Shaner wife of Carl, Kendra Day wife of Michael, Adam Fisher husband of Abby, and Brooke Houston wife of Kevin; great grandchildren MacKenzie Shaner partner of Alex DiCampello, Kile Shaner, Logan Day, Jaxon Day, and Addison Fisher.

Along with his wife and parents, Robert was predeceased by his siblings Sarah Mellis Murray, Virginia McCalicher, Marion Porter, and William Richard Fisher.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Rd., Douglassville, PA 19518. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM at the church. A private family Military burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Douglassville. A fellowship luncheon to celebrate Robert will be held at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Rd., Douglassville, PA 19518.
