Eugene Francis Latchford, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Reading Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis C. Latchford and Dorothy M. (Hall) Latchford. He was a proud graduate of University of Pennsylvania and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
Eugene was an avid collector whose appreciation for history brought him years of enjoyment. He was also a longtime member of Kimberton Fish & Game Association. The association became and important part of his life, providing lasting friendships and countless cherished memories.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife; Nancy Ann (Abbett) Latchford; his brother Richard C. Latchford, husband of Frances Latchford.
Surviving is his stepdaughter Barbara Ann Shaw, wife of James; stepson Joseph Thomas Ford; nephew Chris Latchford, husband of Heather; niece Tracy Jaskelewicz, wife of Glen; nephew Kevin Latchford; grandchildren Dr. Allison Shaw (Zachary Schwab); Daniel Shaw (Jordan); Brittany Naylor (Brandon); and Michael Ford; great grandchildren James and Anna Schwab, Theodore Shaw, and Lillian Shaw.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (3640 Schuylkill Rd A, Spring City, PA 19475) with Fr. O’Hara officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery. A viewing will also be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church.
