Tanner Antalosky, 11

Tanner Antalosky, 11, of Boyertown, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 5th, surrounded by his family. Tanner fought brain cancer with more strength and grace than anyone should ever have to, but that is not what defined him and it's not what he'll be remembered for.

Tanner is survived by his parents, Brad and Danielle Antalosky; his sister, Addison; and his grandmother, Karen Siciliano.

Tanner had a warmth that people gravitated toward. He noticed things others missed, cared for anyone in front of him, and made whatever room he was in feel a little brighter. He was quick to lend a hand, quicker to make a friend, and carried himself with a kindness well beyond his eleven years.

His love for animals ran deep, farm animals, exotic ones, the family pet curled up at home, all of it. He spent time volunteering at a local farm simply because being around animals brought him joy.

He also had a sharp eye for anything with an engine, sports cars, luxury cars, race cars, motorcycles; he loved it all.

Tanner adored his mom and dad, and that love was returned to him every single day. Brad and Danielle gave him a childhood full of comfort, adventure, and unconditional love.

The bond between Tanner and Addison was something to admire. They were as much friends as they were siblings, and their relationship was a gift to each other and to everyone who got to watch it.

Tanner and his family have long been active, beloved members of the Boyertown community, and that community showed up for them in every way imaginable. The fundraising efforts, prayers, and support poured out to the family throughout Tanner's journey helped make his final months as comfortable and full of love as possible. The family is deeply grateful to everyone who gave, who showed up, and who carried them through this tough time.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 12th from 9-11 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home in Gilbertsville, PA, followed by a service at 12 PM and burial immediately following at Fairview Cemetery.

Guests are welcome to dress in comfortable casual attire, and are encouraged to wear Eagles/Phillies or Boyertown sports gear, in honor of the things Tanner loved. Tanner was known for wearing his Jordans, or his favorite sneakers, whenever he dressed up, so feel free to do the same.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Berks Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508, or online at give.berksarl.org.

Brad and Family.
When we first heard of Tanners diagnosis late last year, we so hoped and prayed that there in fact was a cure. When we heard of his passing last week, we were heart broken and have no words. We did not know Tanner, but I knew Brad as a colleague at work and reading the description of his son above nothing surprised me. As an avid Giant Football fan, it would have been my absolute privilege to wear an Eagles Jersey in his honor. As you move forward your Faith, Family and Friends will be there to help you through this extremely difficult time. God bless your family.

I was an RBT for a student that was a close friend of Tanners, Francis. I had the gift of working in Mrs Lutz room as well as seeing Mrs Crills. Tanner was the first kid to ever say hi to me in the building, the first to acknowledge me. Everyday he would be the first student to smile at me. And on a particular day before Thanksgiving break he pulled me aside when I was leaving just to wish me Happy Thanksgiving. I will never forget the kindness that he showed me. Being in a new place was intimidating, but he made me feel so welcome each and every day.
