Roberta A. “Bert” (Waldheim) Peterman, 89, of Pottstown, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl L. Peterman.
Born in Queens, NY, Bert was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude Waldheim. Warm, spirited, and unmistakably present in every room she entered, Bert devoted much of her life to serving her community. She was a proud member of the Doe Club of the Pottstown Elks Lodge for more than 50 years, serving as president in 1975. Her dedication, generosity, and steady involvement were deeply appreciated. She was also a lifetime member of the Norco Fire Company.
Bert retired from the Owen J. Roberts School District as a cafeteria worker in 1999.
Bert is survived by her children: Ronald Peterman, husband of Pamela; B.J. Peterman; Sandy Peterman, fiancée of Jim Heath; and stepson Barry Peterman, husband of Kim. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Matthew Peterman (fiancée Megan Baumgard), Michael Peterman, Emily Patete (wife of Robert), Bryan Trego, April Marburger, and Jamus Peterman (husband of Erin). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bert was predeceased by her granddaughter Jess Peterman and her brother Charles Waldheim.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC, 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30–10:45 AM.
