Diane Fillman departed this world for heaven on October 8, 2017. After a valiant fight, she succumbed to ALS in her home surrounded by family.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Janet (Keehn) Snyder.
Diane is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years Harold Fillman; loving sister Norma Snyder; 3 children Dennis Fillman husband of Mechele, Donnie Fillman, and Brenda Robison; 4 grandchildren Joshua and Hannah Robison, and Zachary and Abigail Fillman.
Diane attended LPN school at Northern Chester County Votech, then continued on to become an RN with a degree from Alvernia College in 1984. She was a compassionate nurse and a tremendous attribute to the nursing profession for 40 years, holding various positions, most recently being an RN at PMSI for 15 years.
Diane wore many hats and held titles such as wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, friend, leader, and giver. She often put others ahead of herself as she was an active and vibrant member of Hopewell Community Church, where she was a pillar of strength for the members of the church and her community.
Her greatest love was for skiing and had the good fortune to ski all over the world. Diane and Harold’s love of the outdoors and skiing has already transcended generations.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Diane’s life on Thursday October 12, 2017 at 6:00 PM at Hopewell Community Church, 1130 Commerce Dr., Pottstown, PA 19464, with Rev. Bruce Mulberry officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-5:45 PM at the church. Interment will be private. Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464 is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ALS Foundation in hopes of someday finding a cure for this devastating disease at www.alsphiladelphia.org
