Eloise C. (Cook) Workman, age 82, of Frederick, formerly of King of Prussia, Park Forest, IL., Johnstown, & Pittsburgh, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, in Allentown. She shared 54 years of marriage to the late James L. Workman.
She was born in Pittsburgh to the late Glover N. & Louise (Wood) Cook & graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and The Pennsylvania State University. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and worked as a State of Pennsylvania social worker, a grade school teacher, and a full time mom.
She enjoyed visiting with her family & friends & traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, and just recently traversed the Panama Canal. She instilled her love of history and dogs in her children.
She is survived by four children; James Clark Workman (Ilse) of Prospect Heights, Illinois, Bruce L. Workman (Wari) of Burlington, Iowa, Jay L. Workman (Pat) of San Rafael, California, Anne L. Workman of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Kerstin A. Workman, James N. Workman, Jason K. Workman, and Jacqueline W. Workman.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, April 1, at Frederick Mennonite Community, 2849 Big Road, Frederick, Pa., 19435-0498, phone 610-754-7878.
