Emerson L. Kirlin, Jr., age 79, of Pottstown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 9, 2010, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on October 15, 1930, in Pottstown, Pa., & was the son of the late Ellen (Dorang) Kirlin & the late Emerson L. Kirlin, Sr. . Mr. Kirlin was the beloved husband of 53 years of Lois H. (Becker) Kirlin.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict who also worked for many years as both a painter & a paper hanger in his family’s business, before being employed later on as a machine operator for 10 years with the Dana Corporation of Pottstown. He was also a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Kirlin is also survived by his son, Jaime Kirlin ( husband of Rebecca ) of Reading, Pa., his daughter, Lori Kramer of Pottstown, & his grandchildren, Amanda Kramer, Melissa La Rosse, Kaitlyn Kirlin, John Kirlin, & Jordan Kirlin. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Kirlin, of Birdsboro, & his son-in-law, Edward Kramer, of Boyertown.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Sunday, March 14, 2010, starting at 3:00 PM from the Trinity Evangelical Church, 250 Swinehart Road, Boyertown, Pa., & to his Visitation from 2-3 PM at the Church. Interment with Military Honors will be held privately by his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Kirlin’s name to the Light Of Life Missions,320 Brookwood Drive, Palmyra, Pa., 17078, would be deeply appreciated by his family.
