Evelyn F. Gaugler, 89, of Pottstown, formerly of Gilbertsville, wife of the late William Gaugler and Harper Gaugler, passed away Saturday at Sanatoga Center.

Born in LaPlata, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Clara B. (Cornett) Britton.

In addition to being a homemaker, Evelyn was employed at Boyertown Casket Company, and Knoll International, Inc. of East Greenville. She was an active member of the Boyertown Area Multiservice Senior Center, as well as both the New Hanover Fire Company and Ringing Hill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliaries. Evelyn was an attending member of the New Hanover Lutheran Church. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Harper E. Gaugler, husband of Dorothy of Gilbertsville, and H. William Gaugler of Reading; four daughters, Ruth Reinoehl, wife of the late George Reinoehl of Wernersville, Mary Lou Gaugler of Pottstown, Anna Lightcap, wife of Donald Lightcap of Sanatoga, and Martine Donner, fiancé of Kenneth Gerth of West Lawn; two brothers, Claude Britton of Red Lion, and William Britton of Barto; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved puppy, Lucky.

Along with her parents, Evelyn is predeceased by her brother James Britton, and sister Shirley East.

A funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, with Pastor Thomas M. Lang officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:15 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
