Frances E. (Staret) Feeney, 84, wife of the late Robert C. Feeney of Etters, Pa., passed away on September 25, 2010, at Parkhouse Providence Pointe in Royersford, Pa. Born in Philadelphia; she was a daughter of the late Jennie (Shumoski) Staret and the late Walter Staret.

She was a lifelong nurse and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War who served at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., and then went on to work in hospitals, emergency rooms, and intensive care units all over the United States. Fran loved to read and she was passionate about political news radio. Nobody was home if the radio was off. She was also an avid flower and vegetable gardener and had a miraculous green thumb. In her retirement she took up golf and she and her late husband had many great golf outings. We will miss our parents.

Fran is survived by her daughters; Maureen Mc Laughlin (wife of the late Raymond) of Burdett, N.Y., Eileen Jeffery (wife of Tim) of Dallas, TX., Irene Bailey (wife of Keith) of Englewood, CO., Siobhan Beckstrom of Oregon, Bridget Newmiller (wife of Dave) of Royersford, her grandchildren; Ian, Devin, Colin, Kiel, Nate, Wade, Austin, Dean, Rose, Evan, and her brother; Walter Staret, of Collegeville. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, the late Miles, and her sister, the late Victoria Staret.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation on Thursday morning from 9:00-9:45 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, Pa., 19468, and to her Funeral Service on Thursday morning at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Tri-County Memorial Gardens; Lewisberry, Pa.
