George J. Cohrac, 79, husband of Janet L. (Dunlap) Cohrac, of Pottstown, passed away on February 23, 2011, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Mary Ann (Galanda) Cohrac, and the late George J. Cohrac.

He had been employed for 46 years by the Pottstown Mercury Newspaper where he started out his career as a paper boy, before retiring as a camera operator in 1996. George was a lifetime member of the West End Fire Company, and also a member of the Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman’s Club. He liked to go hunting and fishing and he also enjoyed watching the Phillies and the 76ers.

In addition to his wife, George is also survived by his brother; Michael Cohrac, of Pottstown, his niece Sandra Cohrac, his nephew, Robert Cohrac, and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters; the late Mary Fronheiser, and the late Irene Moser, and his brothers; the late John Cohrac, and the late Paul Cohrac.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 10:00 AM, with Reverend Scott Major, and Reverend Dawn Lare officiating, at the First Church of the Brethren, 371 N. York Street, Pottstown, Pa., 19464. Burial will be held privately by his family at a later date.
