Homer H. Swarner, 77, husband of the late Gloria J. (Gloss) Swarner, of Hershey, formerly of Pottstown, Chester Co., passed away on Saturday at Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Juniata County, but lived most of his life in rural Pottstown, he was the son of the late Clay A. “Ray” and Cora Mae (Carruthers) Swarner.

Homer was a US Army Veteran, serving with the 101 Airborne Division. Mr. Swarner belonged to the First Baptist Church in Pottstown, serving as deacon, head usher, trustee and many years on the finance committee. He belonged to the Mt. Pickering Lodge No. 446 F & AM Masonic Lodge of which he was past Master and past Secretary. He belonged to the Reading Scottish Rite in Reading, a past Sovereign Prince of the Princes of Jerusalem, past President of the Fellowship Hi-Twelve Club in Reading, past State Secretary of PA. State Assoc. of Hi-Twelve Clubs, and past President of Coventry Lions Club in Chester Co.

At the request of Homer, funeral services and interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pottstown is private.
