James Michael McIntyre, 53, of Kennett Square, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, as the result of a tragic accident doing a job he loved, logging. He was born in Pottstown, Pa., on December 23, 1957, a son of Martha “Marcie” (Yohn) McIntyre and James McIntyre of Valley Forge.
Jim had been a logger for many years, and had an interest in horses from an early age, and he had also previously worked for Jonathan Sheppard at Ashwell Stables, Inc., in West Grove, Pa. He was also an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his son; James Patrick “Patch” McIntyre, age 15, his sister; Lynn Colamarino, wife of Dino, his brothers; Michael McIntyre, husband of Lisa, and Bryan McIntyre, his nephew; Michael McIntyre, Jr., his nieces; Kristi and Samantha McIntyre, Amanda Colamarino, Alysha C. DeLong, wife of Jeremy, Holly, Kayla, and Sarah McIntyre. Jim was also preceded in death by his nephew; the late Tyler James Colamarino. He also had a lot of aunts and uncles who always took an interest in his well-being.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, Pa., 19464, and to his Visitation on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:15 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery, Pottstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions in Jim’s memory be made to the James Patrick McIntyre Educational Trust Fund, c/o First National Bank of Chester County, 111 E. Uwchlan Avenue, Exton, Pa., 19341.
