Jesse R. Yoder, 85, formerly of Gilbertsville, passed away on Saturday at Valley Manor Nursing Center in Coopersburg, Pa.  He was the husband of the late Abbie Yoder, and the late Diane Yoder. Born in Boyertown, he was the son of the late Agnes (Reiter) Yoder, and the late Nelson Yoder.

He had been a self-employed private music instructor for over 50 years in the Boyertown area before his retirement in 2006. Jesse was also a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and had been a substitute U.S. Mail Carrier in Bechtelsville for 30 years, and also a Boyertown School District bus driver for 20 years. He was also a member of the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church of Boyertown.

Jesse is survived by his sons; Terry Yoder, husband of Esther, of Coopersburg, Pa., Tim Yoder, husband of Sharon, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Steve Yoder, husband of Teresa, of Midland, N.C. In addition to his sons, he is also survived by his grandchildren; Hilary Field, Holly Yoder, Hannah Yoder, Sarah Yoder, Rebekah Yoder, Rachel Yoder, Andrew Yoder, his 4 great-grandchildren, and his siblings; Carl Yoder, of Sarasota, Fl., Bernice Zeiset, of Bechtelsville, Esther Rittenhouse, of Souderton, Mary Ann King, of Telford, and Dorothy Stoltzfus, of Seaford, Del.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, Pa., 19525, with Pastor Donald McHenry officiating, and to his Visitation on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:15 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. Friends may also call on Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
