Jonathan David Walsh, 32, of Gilbertsville, passed away suddenly on Monday at Temple Hospital.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Michael Walsh Sr. and Claudia (Cooney) Walsh-Loesch.

Jon was a 1997 graduate of Boyertown High School. He was a talented young man who loved to play guitar and write songs. He was an avid reader, possessed an artistic nature, was a former Scrabble Champion and an accomplished writer who had a short story published. Jon was also a cat lover.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his brother Michael Walsh Jr., husband of Melissa, of Gilbertsville, sister Meghan Rini, wife of Dr. Joseph Rini, of Pfafftown, NC, and maternal grandfather David J. Cooney of Gilbertsville. He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother Florence Cooney.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jon’s name to Montgomery County SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Road, Perkiomenville, PA .
