Joseph A. Interrante, 92, husband of 30 years to the late Theresa M. (Rozecki) Interrante, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 at Pennsburg Manor, following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Norristown, he was the son of the late Anna (Zummo) Maggio Interrante and Vincenzo Interrante.

Joe was a US Army 11th Airborne division veteran, serving for 3 years. He worked as a foreman in roadway and utility construction and later on retired as a construction inspector. He took pride in all his accomplishments, but truly relished the friends he made during his lifetime. At one time he owned and operated a gas station in Norristown and was good at car repair, attained his real estate license and bought, rented, and sold a few homes within the Bridgeport area. In earlier days, Joe enjoyed socializing with his family and friends at the Mount Carmel Club, dancing the tango with his wife to their favorite song, “Spanish Eyes”. He had a thorough enjoyment for playing poker and read and studied various books on this subject frequenting many casinos in Atlantic City. He was a generous and loving father and grandfather and will be sorely missed but now is at peace with his loving wife.

Surviving is son Thomas Weidamoyer, husband of Theresa, of Sanatoga; grandson T. Lucas Weidamoyer, husband of Erin, of Douglassville and Jared Weidamoyer, husband of Lindsey Franks, of New Bern, NC; and many nieces and nephews. Joe is predeceased by one brother, Charles Maggio, and six sisters, Elizabeth Tadeo, Frances Walsh, Mary McKernan, Eleanor Collins, Martha Fazio, and Josephine Gill.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2018 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, with visitation from 10:00AM till start of service at 11:00AM. Burial will be private.
