Joshua Andrew Gehman, 9, of Bally, was granted his angel wings on Tuesday, January 11th after a 2 year battle with brain cancer. He passed peacefully in the arms of his mom and dad and was surrounded by family and friends. Although Josh’s life was short, he will forever be remembered for his immeasurable amounts of love, laughter, strength and resilience. He could light up a room with his smile and humor.

Josh loved school, his friends, firefighting (just like his dad), Lego’s, Transformers, and his stuffed animal collection. He was a fan of the Phillies, Eagles and Miami Dolphins. He was also an adopted member of Moravian College’s baseball team. Although we will miss him every day, he will forever remain in our hearts.

Joshua is survived by his loving parents Matthew and Cynthia (Kroninger) Gehman, his devoted brother Brian and sister Sakura; maternal grandparents Duane and Susan Kroninger of Boyertown and paternal grandparents Ernest and Diane Gehman of Boyertown; maternal great grandparents Lawrence and Patricia Tomko of Collegeville and paternal great grandparents Donald and Georgina Schmoyer of Barto. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 11:00AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1749 S. Main Street, Bechtelsville with Rev. Eugene Zeiser officiating. Burial will follow in Christ Niantic Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7PM to 9PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Josh’s Relay For Life Team, “Twilighters”; checks can be made payable to American Cancer Society and be sent to Diana Smith, Team Captain, 2312 Cussard Circle, Gilberstville, PA 19525.
