Judith A. Merrick., 80 of Royersford, formerly of Horsham, PA, died peacefully on January 14, 2019 surrounded by her loving friends after a long but graceful battle with dementia.
Born in Washington, DC she was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn Wetzel and Bernard Merrick, and her brother Ken. She is survived by her dear friend Suzanne MacPherson (Marie) and her children, Meghann MacPherson (Mistie) and Frank MacPherson (Jenna).

Judy will be remembered for many things; she was funny, fierce and resilient. She changed the lives
of countless children as she was a highly regarded teacher who fostered in each one of her students the respect for knowledge and the desire to achieve. She created fond memories for them, their parents and fellow staff. She would often see her former students who would greet her and thank her for being such an amazing teacher. In the last years she bore her disease with dignity and was a delight to all who cared for her.

She loved many things; time spent in Ocean City, NJ, crossword puzzles, table top puzzles, anything chocolate and was a whiz at fixing things. She read countless mystery novels. Judy loved her college friends and kept in contact with most of them throughout her life. Mostly she loved animals especially the dogs she had over the years.

A graveside service will be held at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA at 11 AM, on Saturday January 19th. Donations can be made in her honor to Main Line Animal Rescue, 1149 Pike Springs Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425. https://www.mlar.org/

Our grief over losing her is diminished because now Judy Merrick is Judy Merrick again.
