LeRoy D. “Lee” Stout, 65, of Douglassville, husband of Maryann (McCall) Stout, passed away on Saturday, July 28 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Mountain Top, he was the son of the late Lester James Stout and Alice (Krapf) Stout Myers.

LeRoy was a Vietnam Marine Veteran receiving 2 Purple Hearts, the Medal of Honor, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pottstown, Union Fire Company, the Pottstown Elk Lodge #814, the American Legion and VFW, both in Birdsboro, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Lee worked at INS in Royersford for 10 years retiring in 2010. Before that he worked as a Pottstown Police Officer for their K-9 unit.

Surviving with his wife of 17 years are brothers Wilbur Stout of Boyertown and Lester Stout, husband of Anita, of Pottstown; sisters Bertha Zearfoss, wife of William, of Douglassville, Kathy Majka, wife of Edward, of Gilbertsville, and Carolynn Minninger, wife of David, of Telford. Also surviving are best friends and almost sons Noah Martin and Mark Runge and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Saturday, August 18th, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown . Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 18 from 9:30AM to 10:15AM at the funeral home. Burial will private and at a later date.
