Marilyn F. (Riu) Fox, wife of the late Richard G. Fox, of New Hanover Square Rd., New Hanover Twp., passed away Tuesday at her residence.

Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Esther (Mack) Riu.

She was a 1953 graduate of Coopersburg High School, and 1961 graduate of Kutztown State University, and attended the Philadelphia College of Art.  Prior to college, she was involved in Voluntary Service (inner city missions).  At one time she was an art teacher for the Boyertown School District.  She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills U.C.C.Church, Bechtelsville, where she was involved in the “Friends for Life” group.  Marilyn worked at the election polls in New Hanover Twp., and was an active volunteer in politics in the Montgomery County area. She served on the “Open Space Committee” in New Hanover Twp. She was a volunteer for the Gilbertsville “If You Build It, They Will Run” 5k run and the Pottstown 4th of July 10k run.

She was an artist, who had a passion for painting portraits and animal and landscape scenes. She enjoyed baking, along with gardening and wildlife in general. Marilyn also enjoyed working with her family heritage/ history, “Grammie”, (aka “Emma”) dearly loved to spend time with her grandchildren.  Marilyn is now reunited with her husband, Richard, and her loved ones that have passed before her. 

Surviving is a son; Thomas R. husband of Michelle R. Fox, of Coatesville, and two daughters; Susan M. wife of Richard L. Lear, of Gilbertsville, and Jane E. wife of Michael P. Deegan, of Exeter Twp. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Jackson P. Fox, Mackey T. Fox, Joshua S. Lear, and Evan M. Deegan, along with two brothers; Marshall J. Riu, of Allentown, and Raymond Riu, of Coopersburg, Pa., and one sister; Lita Domanski, of also of Coopersburg.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday at Shepherd of the Hills U.C.C. Church, 527 Hoffmansville Rd., Bechtelsville, with the Rev. John Brown, officiating; and accompanied by Rev. Marshall J. Riu, Jr.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday from 10 to 10:45 AM, at the church.
