Mark B. Carrig, 60, of Trappe, formerly of King of Prussia, passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery.

Born in Bryn Mawr, Mark was the son of the late Theodore and Lena (Matteo) Carrig. He spent the majority of his adult life in the Collegeville Trappe area

Mark is survived by his two sons, Brian T. Carrig and Mark N. Carrig, their mother Nancy B. Nicholas, and Mark’s siblings, William Carrig of Bronxville, New York, Joseph Carrig of Hatfield, Theodore Carrig of Oaks, and Carolee Beaver of Anderson, South Carolina. Mark was predeceased by his sister Donna Williams of Limerick.

Mark was an IT Consultant by occupation and worked for various leading IT companies, as well as running his own consulting firm, during more than three decades in which the field experienced both dramatic expansion and change. He enjoyed constructing his own computers in the early days and was always available to help a friend with the myriad of difficulties in the beginning of the home computer era.

Mark was long active in civic and community matters in Collegeville and Trappe Boroughs, including service on various local Boards and Authorities and in his support for community activities. He was a longtime resident, board member and periodic officer of the Rittenhouse Home Owners Association, particularly active in maintaining the quality of life and maintenance of common areas of the development. Mark was quick with a smile, a loyal friend and always ready to stand up for what he believed, regardless of cost. His passing was a difficult and painful surprise to his family, friends and colleagues.

Until relatively recently, Mark was an avid health and gym enthusiast. His favorite hobby was music, favorite artist Led Zeppelin, though his extensive digital music collection covered a broad range of music styles and captured both his characteristic loyalty and his willingness to make new friends in life and in music.
