Martha Scigliano, 79, of Spring City, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Paoli Hospital following a strong battle with cancer.
Born in Uruguay, she was the daughter of the late Ignacio and Marie Elena (Silveria) Scigliano.
Martha was a very active member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, where she would help cook and bake for various church events. She would also cook for the monks and priests at St. Tikhon’s Monastery. Martha was a former member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Phoenixville. She was also active with the Altar Society at both Holy Trinity and Holy Ghost.
Martha worked for All Control for six years and All-Fill for many years.
She was as devoted to her faith as she was to her family. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She was the epitome of kindness and love, which extended beyond her family. This selfless woman created bonds that impacted so many people that her memory will live on for years to come.
Surviving is her daughter Alejandra R. “Ali” Pellechio, wife of Mark; son Hans A. Mossner, husband of Lauren; brother Hector Scigliano husband of Brenda; sister Marie Elena Scigliano, companion of Hugo Farias; and grandchildren Anthony Pellechio, fiancé of Caitlin Fontecchio, Vanessa Sanders, wife of Ben, Vincent Pellechio, boyfriend of Nikki Sheridan, Logan Mossner, and Gavin Dillman. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Albert Ignacio Scigliano and sister Mary Elizabeth Buttaro.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 15, 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1236 Juniper St., Pottstown, PA 19464 with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, Nov. 16, 9:30 a.m. at the church, with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.
