Mary Ellen (Ramsey) Harp, 87, of Pottstown, wife of the late Floyd D. Harp, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Birdsboro, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Bertha C. (Garman) Ramsey.
Mary was a homemaker all her life. In her late years after the death of her husband, she became involved with the Pottstown Senior Center and also was a former vice president of the Tenants Assoc. in the Smith Towers where she resided for 5 years. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword books, bingo and watching TV. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia A., wife of Richard Geisler, of Gilbertsville and Carol M., wife of Thomas Rowley, of Sinking Springs; sons Dennis F. Harp, husband of Karen, of Boyertown and James A. Harp, husband of Tina, of Pottstown; grandchildren Pamela Carr of Boyertown, Barry Geisler of Douglassville, Stacy Waltman of Reading, Dennis M. Harp of Boyertown, April L. Smith of VA, Kevin M. Harp, Daniel Harp and Matthew Harp all of Pottstown; and 7 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, 10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Rev. Dr. Donald B. Eisenhauer officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30AM to 10:15AM at the funeral home.
