Michael Dominic Cantamaglia, age 16, son of Craig R. and Karen L. (McAlpin) Cantamaglia, of Green Hill Rd., Barto, died Monday in auto accident in East Coventry Twp. Michael’s heart always belonged to Pottsgrove, where he resided for most of his life.

He was born in Norristown, and was an 11th grade student at Pottsgrove High School.

He enjoyed playing soccer and loved snowboarding.  But more than anything, Mike’s friends were his life.  Mike, beloved to them as Cant or Chewy, loved his friends and lived with a shy smile and a contagious laugh that brought fun and comfort to those closest to him.  Mike was happiest when everyone around him was happy.

Michael lived in basketball shorts, sweats and sneakers or flip flops. In true tribute and loving memory honoring him, as he will always be, the family is asking for a casual dress at all services, sweats, jeans, team wear, comfort clothes, as that was truly Michael, as those closest know all too well, is what he would want.

Surviving with his parents are a Paternal Grandmother, Dorothy Capoferri, of Trooper, and Maternal Grandparents, Maria A. and William T. McAlpin, of Woodbridge Va. Also surviving is a brother, Brandon D. Cantamaglia, of Barto.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St. James U.C.C., 321 S. Limerick Rd., Limerick Pa., with the Rev. James Roth, officiating. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.  Friends may call on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM, at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin St. Pottstown, and also on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:15 AM, at the church.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the:  Michael D. Cantamaglia, Pottsgrove Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o TriCounty Credit Union, 1550 Medical Dr., Pottstown, Pa.  19464.
