Paul E. Medunic Sr., 82, husband of the Dolores (Busch) Medunic and the late Madeline Medunic, of Limerick, formerly of Manayunk, PA, passed away on Friday at his home.
Born in Nemacolin, PA, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Mary (Petrovich) Medunic.
Surviving with his wife are his daughters Kathleen (Medunic) Bischoff of Pompano Beach, FL., Cheryl Ann (Medunic) Czerpak of Pottstown; son Paul Medunic of Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren, 1 step daughter; 3 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Along with his first wife and parents, he is predeceased by his sons Michael and John Medunic, and 9 siblings.
Paul was raised in Crucible, PA. At the age of 16 he joined the Merchant Marines; at age 18 he joined the Marine Corp. and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. In 1950, he was honorably discharged. Paul was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church in Linfield, PA., and the American Legion in Mansfield, PA. He also enjoyed Hunting and Fishing.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 11AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Church, 1228 Main Street, Linfield with Fr. Paul Brandt officiating. Burial will follow in Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9AM to 10AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, with prayers at 10AM.
