Peg A. (Callaghan) Steficek, 56, of Pottstown, Limerick Twp., wife of Joseph D. Steficek, passed away on Sunday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Frances T. (Gallagher) Callaghan.

Peg was a member of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta RC Church where she was a former Eucharistic minister. She received her BS degree in Mathematics at Chestnut Hill College. Peg worked for USLI in Wayne for 15 years and taught both mathematics and insurance underwriting skills in many places over the years.

Surviving with her husband of 35 years are sons Adam J. Steficek and Mark S. Steficek, husband of Kristi; daughter Ellen M. Johns, wife of Christopher; her brothers Joseph, Michael, and John Callaghan; her sisters Mary Gilbride and Kathleen Nasca; and her newly born grandson Steven Christopher Johns.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 11:00AM at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Linfield campus, 1228 Main Street, Linfield, with Fr. Paul Brandt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00PM to 8:30PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, and on Friday from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the church.
