Peggy L. Jacob of Gilbertsville
Peggy “Peg” (Dotterer) Jacob, 70, of Gilbertsville, PA, wife of Kenneth C. Jacob, Jr., passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Helen M. (McKinley) Dotterer.
Peg was a church organist for over 50 years. She served the following area Lutheran churches: Christ Niantic, St. Luke Gilbertsville, St. Luke’s Obelisk, and New Hanover. She played the last 22 years at Palm Schwenkfelder Church.
During her career, she was also a music teacher in the Pottsgrove School District, a church secretary at Bethel UMC in Spring City, and a computer programmer at LNP Plastics in Exton. Also, her tenure as Christian Education Director at New Hanover Lutheran Church was highlighted by the Vacation Bible School, Kids’ Crusade, and Camp Falckner programs.
Peg enjoyed coffee, public radio, yardwork, travel, and Bible study. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. She was known and loved for her selflessness, her integrity, her compassion, and her Christian faith. She helped to mold and shape the many lives that she touched.
Surviving along with Kenneth, her husband of 43 years, are her children: Adam K. Jacob, husband of Stephanie, Willow Grove, PA, and Katie A. LaCosse, wife of Justin, Houghton MI; grandchildren Asher & Micah Jacob, and Yalmer & Annabel LaCosse. She was predeceased by her sister Judith Miller.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA. Officiating will be Pastor Nicholas Pence and Sister Millicent Drake. Burial will follow in the church’s cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Palm Schwenkfelder Church in Peggy’s name.
