Richard L. "Sticker" Rhoads, 74, of Douglassville, husband of Ruth E. (Rosenberger) Rhoads, passed away on Wednesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Leslie D. and Thelma (Miller) Rhoads.

Richard worked at Doehler-Jarvis for 36 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 30 years becoming Scout Leader of Troop 129 out of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Pottstown. He was a member of the Pottstown Elk, F&AM Stichter Lodge #254, and the Rajah Shrine. He was also a member of the German Club, St. Gabes, West End Fire Co., Friendship Hook and Ladder, and the Boyertown Orioles.

Surviving with his wife of 52 years are sons Jeffrey L. Rhoads, husband of Janet, of Gilbertsville, Randy J. Rhoads, husband of Maryellen, of Douglassville, and Todd A. Rhoads, husband of Micheline, of Mahanoy City; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his dear friend Shirley Reese and her children Robert, Scott, Christine and Wendy. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Ralph Rhoads and his sister Betty Sosa.

A memorial service will be Friday, 2:30PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown. Visitation will be Friday from 1:30PM to 2:15PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
