Sal Polizzi, 67, husband of Myra Ann (Marsicano) Polizzi of 46 years, passed away on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Andrew and Maria (Ilardi) Polizzi.
Sal was a member of Hopewell Community Church in Pottstown where he enjoyed teaching bible study and was a deacon and treasurer. Sal retired from the Port Authority of NY and NJ in 1996 after 36 years. He loved woodworking, reading, and studying science. He was a retired US Navy veteran during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Most important to Sal was his loving family that will sadly miss him.
Along with his wife he is survived by children Andrew Polizzi, husband of Melissa, Laura Polizzi-Bausbacher, wife of Paul and Jeanine Polizzi-Deckert, wife of Rob; and grandchildren Justine, Alyssa, Collin, Eric, Josh, Britney and Meaghan.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 11:30AM at Hopewell Community Church, 1130 Commerce Drive, Pottstown with Rev. Bruce Levengood officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2PM to 4:30PM and 7:00PM to 8:30PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown and on Saturday from 10:30AM to 11:30 AM at the church.
