Sally C. (Cross) Lang, age 76, of Pottstown, passed away after a brief illness, with her family by her side, on Saturday, November 7th, 2009, at Manatawny Manor, E. Coventry Twp.

She was the wife of the late Philip C. “Pete” Lang, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 1983.  Born in Columbus Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James and M. Arletha Cross.

She attended Pottstown Schools and received a 2-year degree from the Reading Business Institute.  She went on to work for various doctors’ offices in the Pottstown area, worked at Manatawny Manor alongside her husband and retired as a medical transcriptionist from the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center in 2000.

Sally was member and past president of Junior Service League, Pottstown, and enjoyed singing with the Melody Maids.  She attended Zion’s U.C.C., Pottstown, participated in a book club and spent as much time as she could with her beloved grandchildren. She was the “Mom” to many of her children’s friends, and she enjoyed reading, cooking, and vacations with her family.

Mrs. Lang is survived by her children, Elnor “Noni” Herb of Pottstown, Beth L. Cozzone, wife of Glenn, of Loveland, Ohio, James C. Lang, husband of Megan, of East Coventry, and Philip C. Lang, Jr., husband of Angela, of Lower Pottsgrove Twp., along with a brother, John C. Cross and his wife Paula, of Worthington, Ohio, twelve grandchildren; Joshua, Joseph and Thomas Graydus, Gregory Herb, Eric and Sandra Cozzone, Nicholas, Craig, Paige, Brynn, Sarah and Avery Lang and one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Graydus and much-loved nieces and great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Susan Jane Cross and William H. Cross.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 11 AM, at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 N. Franklin St. Pottstown, with the Rev. Dr. Peter Nichols, officiating.  Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10 to 10:45 AM, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
