Stanley Warren Seitzinger Sr., age 85, beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Hancher) Seitzinger, who passed away in November of 2008, of Manor Care, Allentown, and formerly of Emmaus and Gilbertsville Pa.., died Friday at the Lehigh Valley Hospice, in Allentown.

Born in St. Claire Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas Buchanan Seitzinger and Elsie (Froeschle) Seitzinger.

Mr. Seitzinger graduated from California State Teachers College, in California Pa., after serving in the U.S. Army in WWII.  Before leaving for Europe he attended both Purdue University, and Texas A & M, while in the service. In Europe he served with the 78th Lightning Division, in the battle of Huertgen Forrest, the battle of Hachen, and the crossing of the Rhine River at the Remagen Bridge. He was awarded a Bronze Star.

He worked as an industrial arts teacher for 30 years, at the former Norco High School, and then for Owen J. Roberts School District. He also taught evening adult education at O.J.R., for a number of years.

He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Pottstown for 55 years.  He was also a member of the George Amole Post American Legion #47, Pottstown. He was fond of sports, and enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and gardening, and was also a talented craftsman and artist.  Most importantly he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving is a son, Stanley W. Seitzinger Jr., of Gilbertsville, and two daughters, April M. wife of Joseph E. Parson, of Phila., and Karen A. wife of Rick Ossman, of Boyertown. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Zach, Joshua, and Matthew Haydt, along with Logan, and Gabrielle Ossman. He is also survived by a brother, Thomas R. Sietzinger, of Orwigsburg, Pa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday in Christ Episcopal Church, 316 High St., Pottstown, with the Rev. Terry I. Highland, officiating.. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville Pa.  Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church.
