Wilmer H. Bealer, 95, of Pottstown, husband of Martha G. (Davis) Bealer, passed away on Tuesday at Chestnut Knoll Nursing Home in Boyertown.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Horace and Alice (Maurer) Bealer.

Wilmer worked at Charles I. Stout & Son Inc. in Pottstown as a heavy equipment operator for 3 generations. He was a WWII S/Sgt Army Veteran serving in the European Theater in the 712th Tank Battalion.  He was a former Upper Pottsgrove Twp. Commissioner, member of the Upper Pottsgrove Fire Police and Fire Company where he was assistant chief at one time, and member of the former American Legion in Pottstown. He was very proud of his home grown tomatoes and stand at home where he sold them.

Surviving with his wife of 69 years are sons Clifford L. Bealer, husband of Nancy, of Boyertown and Carl R. Bealer, husband of Tina, of Fleetwood; daughter Darlene E., wife of “Smokey” Fegley, of Stowe; sister Alma Erb of Stowe; grandchildren Lisa Burgoon, Herb Beekley III, Tony Beekley, and Jessica Beekley; great grandchild Brady Burgoon; step-grandchildren Christina Dietrich, Kyle Didyoung, and Gregory Didyoung and step great grandchildren Tyler Gajus and Evan Fisher. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Marie Heffner.

A funeral service will be Monday, 11:00AM at Catagnus funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 711 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown with Rev. Lenn Zeller officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Visitation will be Monday, 9:30AM to 10:45AM at the funeral home.
